I'm interested in the brow stuff. I never used pencil or shadow on my brows until the past few years. Back in the 60s and 70s i went for a 1920s / 30s inspired look with very fine eyebrows - i didn't need to pluck them very much, they were never heavy. But now that i'm oooooold, i actually have a bit of a bare patch in my left brow where i never plucked.
I have dark brown hair, but i do not like true brown on my brows at all, much too heavy and hard looking, just as i don't wear black eye liner for the same reason. So i was using an old eyebrow pencil from Origins i bought back in the 1990s, Beechwood 04, a medium taupe brown in a natural wood pencil - something they don't make anymore.
Then i had my face done at my local MAC one day when they were pretty empty. The MUA was much too tame in her use of colors on me, in my opinion -- i am not conservative, i'm sure you've all guessed -- so it was rather disappointing. But she did turn me on to Omega (medium taupe matte eyeshadow) on my brows, and it looks very nice. I got a really cheap, somewhat crappy, e.l.f. flat angle brush for my brows and it works fine for my brows. I know a MAC brush would be much better, but, hey, the e.l.f. brush was only $2.
So i'm excited about several of the upcoming products.
Veluxe Brow Liner
* Strawberry Blonde – Soft muted beige-taupe (perm)
* Redhead – Soft brown (perm)
* Brunette – Muted mid-tone grey (perm)
I'll need to test to see which one works for me.
Fluidline Brow Gelcreme
* Dirty Blonde - Soft taupe brown
And i'll check out these eyeshadows from two of the Duos:
Soba – Golden brown with gold shimmer (Satin)
and
Coquette – Muted greyish taupe (Satin)
because i don't really need the Duos. I'll check to see if they're perm e/s.
I just texted my daughter in Philadelphia, and she's ok, didn't lose power and her basement didn't flood. I hope other Specktralites out East are OK.
