How long are paintpoints good for? I have had some for many years...
For personal use, quite a while. I have paint pots that are older and don't smell and work fine. If they smell, toss them.
For pro use, I would change them often.

I think throwing out makeup is a personal choice. If its not up to your standards of freshness then that's a good place to determine if you want to keep it or not. Personally, mascara is the only makeup that I constantly replenish cause I am in and out of it. I rotate my paint pots so I am never opening and closing one long enough for it spoil. I also wipe out my makeup every now and then and check for any damage over time. I have to say its rare for me to get rid or something.

I hope I can fine one paint pot of this collection that I can work with. Anything too glittery is a big fat no!

Thanks everyone! :) When they start separating from the sides is that a sign to throw them? Yeah, for some reason when PP came out I went hog wild without thinking if I'd wear them or not. I'm def more careful now with cream products! Leaned my lesson

I LOVE the color of Let's Skate, but the glitter falls on my cheeks all day long and drives me crazy. I hope they don't all have that!!

They are drying out. You can revive them. I would put a bit on a metal palette, add a little Visine or Fix+ and mix. . Add more liquid until you get the consistancy you want. The creamier ones seem to dry out the most for me.

I store mine upside down (yeah they are wobbly) but I've found they dry out MUCH much much slower now. My PP ones still look new... They have not separated from the sides. Same with fluidlines too. I really think it helps.

That's what I do as well and my PP ones also look like new.

Liquid makeup oxidizes.... Your liquid foundation can oxidize on your skin... We are constantly exposed to free radicals everywhere we go..I really wouldn't worry too much about them from pp's.... I would take it with a grain of salt and not go overboard
Honestly, as someone who didn't wear any makeup for years and now wears it daily, even if your makeup is totally fresh, everyone should bear in mind that it's all full of chemicals and also mineral ores of every kind, that can be extremely drying on delicate skin, if not downright harsh.

If you are wearing makeup of any kind, you owe it to your skin to thoroughly remove it as soon as you are done for the day and to use plenty of nourishing skincare packed with moisture and anti-oxidants. They don't have to be costly - there are plenty of fruits, veggies and oils that are absorbed through the skin, though they might not do some of the more targeted things like the tech stuff does. I definitely see the toll especially on the skin around my eyes, after I started wearing makeup regularly, but it's nothing I can't keep under control if I make sure to soothe and pamper it to balance things out.

Be good to yourself!!

I keep mine in their boxes stored away in a cool dark place too - even my Cham Pale ones are going strong. I don't know for sure if this helps, but I'm also careful to keep the surface smooth. If I accidentally dig down into one and make a crevice, I close it up right then and there.

Agreed. You only have one skin. Old cream products on skin = wrinkle galore in the long run

But everyone has the right to make their own decision.

No, it just means they're drying up. Any cream product in a jar will do this. Just make sure that it's covered the entire time. When you're applying the product to one eye, flip the jar upside down on a tissue to reduce the exposure to air. Then get more product our for the other eye, and flip it upside down again, and replace the lid immediately after usage. The same applies to fluidlines as well. Just remember, NEVER add liquid of any form to the jar. This will cause mold and bacteria to form, and will ruin the product.

I actually also turn the jar upside down in between doing my eyes. I put it on the upside down lid instead of a tissue and it seems to work. Thanks for the tips about not putting liquid in the jars. I've not done that yet, but I might have once they are starting to dry out. Now I definitely won't.

Yeah you can always dig a bit out (enough to do both eyes) and, using a palette, add a bit of MM to soften it up, and use it that way if it dries up. But putting the liquid directly into the jar is just asking for trouble!

I'll do that when I need to. I recently got a palette and spatula and already had Mixing Medium:)

I agree. Personal choice, in my opinion. I take very good care of my makeup and store it in a cool, dark place and I've had some PPs last longer than they need to, while they still work well.

Immediately after I know I have called it a day, I take my makeup off. Remove, cleanse, tone, moisturize, the whole she bang and I haven't had any problems with my skin.

Glad to read these are perm as well. I'm not so sure about the super glittery part, though.
