Is this meant to be sort of a Vamplify part deux?

I don't think so. The Vamplify glosses are just described as glosses. Glosses with moisturizing benefits, but just gloss. These are supposed to be stains as well, so even after the glossy finish fades, there should be color left behind.

I can't wait to see swatches. I've been so busy lately that I don't have time to reapply lipstick. I think these stains would be great, if they live up to be what they claim.

I'm not a much of a gloss person, I'll be skipping this.

MAC used to be so innovative. Now they seem to be way behind the curve.

This year so far I'm only excited about one collection and this isn't it. What's going on at MAC?

This! I used to be excited to try new products and used to do big hauls around 2014, but everything just repeats, the colors just remind me of vamplify. I much rather take a look at the regular range, because there are great items I used to neglect in the LE craze.

I was really hoping they might bring back "cocktail", anyone remember those lipglass stains from 2000 ish? Cocktail was a really blue based lilac.....soooo good. I feel like MAC just keeps making the exact same colors in every single formulation and I guess it's lucky for me that NONE of them look good on me because I have been spared spending any money on lipsticks for the last 6 months!

Yup, I still have my Cocktail lipglass stain (what's left of it)! MAC was making interesting colours and products back then, in the 90s and early 2000s... I feel they have definitely gone way more commercial and 'safe' in recent years. I miss the edgier colours of the old days when they weren't so mainstream. Mind you, now I'm too old to pull off 'edgy' but I miss the concept and the thrill of seeing what they would come up with (ie. Grid and Blade lipsticks!). But I agree, now it's the same 15 colours over and over but in different formulas, and often after other cosmetics companies have already released a similar product.

I don't like matte lipsticks anymore. I find them way too drying, so these spark my curiosity... But I think I will try them once there are swatches and reviews out there and I can see how other people like them.

I agree with everyone who has said MAC is falling behind. I started buying MAC in 1996, and the brand was so innovative back then! I used to come in and buy entire collections, now I pick and choose what to buy.

Same here! Have been buying Mac since the early 90's at a time when a lot of their collections included new innovative products, colors etc. and they were stellar! Nowadays, it seems like the same old, same old. This is not to say that there aren't great products being released, but with so many collections, the consistency just isn't there. Like you, I've become a lot more selective in my choices, AND I am thankfully hoarding amazing products from years gone by haha!
