^^^^^^^I will indeed keep the books especially those written by the Peoples of those lands along with all the conversations I shared & places I visited. I am of those Peoples!

However, I am not so quick as to immediately find offense! I might as well be offended by all the fashion and design etc.that clearly takes inspiration / derivation from the Southwest and those who have lived there since creation times. There is being culturally sensitive and then being overly so. Before I walk up and start "screaming at a bush" I'm damn well going to be sure I understand the bush first.

Yikes! Rude of you to assume that none of us come from the cultures we are speaking of.

Everyone is allowed to voice & share concerns, feelings and thoughts here. No one is wrong or right as there are multiple perspectives. There is no need to attack to prove how strongly you may feel on an issue. We can respectfully agree to disagree.

I said what I said, and I cannot turn back on it. My passion is my love for that which I'm composed. Never did I assume those in dialog were not of the same culture. Everyone has a voice, but the way I was made, I can't tolerate disrespect. Be it big or small. My tribe would take offense to this, so it's offensive. Lol, screaming at a bush? You totally didn't understand where I was going with that metaphor. I don't have to scream to get my point across. And you can rest assure I've done my homework on this matter, that's why I will continue to stand firmly on my square.

If anyone has been offended or upset by this conversation that was not my intention. I am sorry. However, I do look at this as an opportunity to have this kind of dialogue. We should be questioning the sources of ideas & inspirations. It is also the opportunity to better educate ourselves. I would rather spend my energy on educating rather then just being angry. Too many beautiful wonderful things in this life & world to share!

Me expressing my frustration was not meant to offend anyone. And though I may be upset/angry, that's not the only emotion i feel on this matter. So please dont assume that I function on one gear. But also note, im well within my rights to feel that emotion along with a vast majority of others . I only expressed one side of my perspective in my opening thoughts, but I'm not limited to them. I agree that we should educate one another, but I will not compromise or leave out what makes some uncomfortable for the sake of agreement . The whole truth has to be given in order to teach on any subject.

^^^^^Very well said! I have nothing but respect for those who question, challenge & discuss the tough uncomfortable issues. It is indeed about multiple emotions & perspectives. I for one would never silence or censor someone else for the sake of being uncomfortable. I wish you peace YarahFlower!

I think the packaging is beautiful and the collection is highlighting some of the beauty found in all of the southwest. My family is and always has been very in touch with our Delaware and Sioux roots and I find instances like this more of a celebration of an amazing culture. You don't have to agree with that but I don't appreciate being told I'm arrogant for not finding this meant to be taken in a negative light.

That being said, I do hope the promo image isn't anything bad, if it is really derivative of "tribal" stereotypes then I can see where it would become a problem.

If you don't like this collection - for whatever reason - you don't have to buy from it. I don't think this thread is the place to argue if this is offensive or not, especially since people will always have different opinions.

I'm always excited for new patent polishes so those are a must for me. I'm also curious about the Wild Horses quad because of the name and due to horses, so yeah. So glad to see Hot Chocolate lipstick being repromoted because it was one of the rare odd color transformer gems from the Apres Chic collection.

The collection seems as big as Alluring Aquatics & Wash and Dry so maybe it will come out around the same time as those ones did which is mid May.
