I'd be really interested in the lipstick by Fouz as I'm around her complexion. I really hope we're able to buy lipsticks outside of our "representatives".

Riiiiiiiight?!?!??! Alex Steinherr said something like her shade was the equivalent of a comfy pair of jeans, and I was like GIRL! You're at MAC! You don't want everyday jeans, you want a nightgown! A cocktail dress! A jumpsuit! Anything! But not jeans!!!!!!!!!

LOL YES a jumpsuit! That is the perfect way to put it!!

All those countries and they couldn't find a deeper skinned person to represent more of the color spectrum? Or the diversity all around the globe?! How about beauty influencers that don't pander to 14 year olds like Laura Lee? Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky. Dang it MAC I was rooting for you!

I completely agree with you. It would have been nice to see a variety of people with different skin tones and makeup styles represented for this collection, especially since they chose beauty influencers from around the world. I will check out this collection but to be honest, I'm not really excited about it. I recognize a few names on the list but they are not anyone whom I have paid much attention to beyond maybe a collaboration project (I did buy the Violet Voss x Laura Lee and the Saucebox x Batalash eyeshadow palettes solely because I liked the shades as I had never heard of Laura Lee or Samantha prior to those palettes) or a youtube video or two when I look for tutorials.

So what type of colors would you guys make? I actually think it is harder than we think. I went to the BITE color lab and had 3 (or was it two) colors made and I after looking at the pigments I had no idea what to make. I was a little overwhelmed.

Oooh... Now that's a hard one... If had to make 3 lipsticks, one would definitely be a purple retro matte. A teal frost and navy blue retro matte... But if I was at a colour lab, god help me... Oooh black frost even... And the indecisiveness in me is starting to show…

Maybe the expectation is hig as it's MAC and beauty is their business? I don't know these people, though.
High end makeup campaigns need to get it together with the diversity, too :/ end rant, sorry lol

Knowing me? Various shades of "nude" lipsticks lol
I'm always looking for nude, brown and peach tones for my skin tone/pigmented lips
They tend to look very different
I might play with corals, strawberry pinks, a dark blue/black, maybe reds, a shade that's similar but darker than CL Eton Moi, a sheer orange

I ended up with a coral and a vampy burgundy color. if there was a 3rd I haven't a clue. LOL I made so many different combination and at the time was trying to stay away from what I have. But what don't I have??!?!?!?!

I like the black frost idea and strawberry pink color idea. Next time I think I'd do a watermelon.

AWS, you're right, they really need to step up the diversity game across all makeup brands.

Exactly lol
We have probably already hunted down the shades we wanted by that time lol
But a lab sounds overwhelming, it's understandable!

Re: diversity: Yes, I don't know why it's like that

I would make a perfect dupe of MAC Bubblegum, not sure about the other 2, maybe a true purple with gold and red shimmer and a perfect coral pink.

I would love to see how a true purple with gold and red shimmer will swatch. The last time I saw a 'purple with gold pearl', there was no gold pearl... Yes, Lavender Jade, where is the gold pearl in you???
