Hey this thread it dead. Did anyone else order? Well, I guess it didn't wide release yet. I guess it isn't a must have collection but I do think it is a good deal. If you don't have to have it, I think you can wait for a sale. I tried the quad, bronzer and highlighter today. Quick first impressions. I completely forgot about the Sandy Crotch (Oh my Gosh LOL) shade and went for my usual Soft Brown for transition and put Brash on the lid. I used the Sonia G fluffy brush because I wanted a light application of the metallic color but it went on with full saturation. I was a bit surprised about that. Quite pigmented color. I haven't worn the old Brash in quite a while. I need to do a side by side comparison. I put the red color in the outer half of the lid, again with the fluffy brush and the brown matte in the outer v. The brown looked okay but I wanted it a little bit darker so I went to another palette. I wanted to see if Sandy Crotch would work as highlight - no not light enough but it did have a pretty peachy vibe to it. It may work as a transition color or a lid color. I loved the look I created but it was just too much for the day I was having today so I decided to tone it down by putting blending Sandy Crotch all over my lid - oh gosh. I liked the look. Made it soft metallic/reflective tangerine color but not as intricate. I liked the first look better.

The bronzer worked okay. It showed up okay but I did a light application. I was rushing and was afraid I would over do it. The highlighter did not blow me away on first try. I think it was a little bit cooler than expected for me. I can wear it though. I don't know. Hmmm. Don't know what it was really. I didn't try the glosses yet.

I'm still happy I bought this set.

I'm kind of disgruntled because I bought a lipstick from #1 which is now on clearance and bought both kits from #2 only to see them discounted like 2 weeks later. I don't regret the purchases but do regret paying full price. This packaging and the products are not appealing enough to fool me again. I'll see what makes it to clearance on this one.

The only reason I haven’t bought any Patrick Starrr is because I wear cool tones (which is why I got so much from Mirage Noir)

BUT I’m still hopeful that there will be something I will want to stalk for in Patrick’s Autumn and/or Holiday collections.

I hear you. It is really disappointing to see an item go on sale so quickly, though it was predictable with Patrick Starrr. Glad you enjoy your items.

Sales seems to be going really slow as I get at least 3 - 5 Emails per day for their "exclusive" select membership. Having too much sales does not appeal to me as a customer at all. Sadly, it reminds more of dollar store mentality.

I just renewed my Pro membership a few days ago, but I have been thinking hard to letting it slip this time as their are so many items on sales. I started to branch out to other brands, which I never did before. Let's hope MAC picks up speed again.

same here
I bought eye palettes, then the kit and many other things like strobe collection, new brow stuff... and then everything ends up on sale and I paid full price. I kind of feel dumb

They increased the price of regular non-limited edition lipsticks to $18.50. If I buy something from dollar store or drug store because I want to try it out and it sucks I can toss it. If I pay top dollar I end up trying to use it even if I don't like it because it cost so much.

It really sucks. I can only share my strategy, which works really well for me: I only buy a product if I find it back up worthy. If not, I will pass. It serves me well, as my (large) collection is well edited with items that I truly use. While I would sometimes just like to purge on a product because it looks pretty/nice packaging/everybody buys it/it's a novelty, I typically hold back if the "I only buy a product if it's BU worthy" does not fit.

MAC is definitely running a lot of sales lately. It is so sad to see and it breaks my heart. But I stick to my rules and just branch out to other brands where I spend my "MAC money". The select membership is also slowing down as everybody realized that the exclusiveness that was suggested does not exist in reality. MAC also forgot about their Pro members - and this might have to do with the fact that they are not so much involved in the fashion shows anymore, where other brands got their foot in the door. I just got approved for Pro discount from other brands, so I might well use these new opportunities until MAC becomes more popular again. Having said that, I still buy a lot from MAC, but more staples and selected LE collections.

I like the eyeshadow palette only. Waiting on someone to resell kits on ebay breaking them up again. I can't justify a whole kit cause all the colors wont work for me.

MAC took its success as a given. They started pumping out too many collections often with lower quality products. Plus as you mentioned the select program is worthless. There is no incentive to try to remain in the program.

I have not purchased any products from MAC’s summer collections this year. First year this has ever happened. The last summer collection that I purchased almost everything from was alluring aquatic.

In contrast some other brands have been “knocking it out of the park” both in quality and creativity in their lines.

I don't even think that the quality was low. Every brand has hit and miss item, so did MAC. But changing their release pattern, both in size and products, for very popular collections - such as the big summer collection, was a big mistake. Typically, I bought the whole summer collection including back ups.

I just hope that MAC recovers.
