No, I did not moisturize before using. (But I don't regularly use moisturizer - I know, the Blasphemy LOL!)

As with everything -you should try it for yourself! Why doesn't work for one person can be a HG for someone else.
so very true! :)

I'll try to get a sample at the MAC store. Although it's only sold online, I am sure that some of the MUA has it in their kit. If the new primers are released in September, I will probably wait until I buy.

I'll try to get the sample on Thursday, but I'm not sure if the MUA will have time for non-SP request :)

Oh I do love this. I used it because I'm Korean and BB creams are BIG in Korea. ( I even saw japanese people who were 'coming' to korea to get BB creams lol )
I'm so happy it's coming in to US!!!! It was getting hard for me to get bb creams in the state now I live here...

I think you will be disappointed that the MAC bb is not the same as your typical Asian bb. The MAC one does not whiten/brighten :(

Lou, did you get your beauty balm yet?
no not yet :( i had something come up that i have to do this week which has made me need to buy some new clothing and shoes. plus i've had to book in to get my hair done which costs about £70 so i have no cash left over! i'll see how things go though because i am so desperate to try it! i just don't want to spend all my money and have nothing left for the rest of the month!

Not sure if that helps, but it seems the BB is out in Germany (at least at the airport).

Is anyone else really confused about this product? I love the idea of BB creams, the proper ones in asia, which have whitening, brightening and healing ingredients i.e. blemish balm. But quite a few foundations are now taking this approach [and the name] without actually having these properties in them? I find it hard that they call themselves a blemish balm cream without these special properties, as surely this is what makes them different to foundation?

I would love to find a MAC base product which is anti-blemish regardless ;)

In spite of that, it looks good, however does seem that they are just putting the same product out there but trying to reach the UK/USA market which can't/doesn't want to import in proper BB creams.

will the ones from asia help with discolouration then if they whiten? is that what that means? i have yellowish tones around my mouth which annoys me and i'd love to whiten it!

Lou, if you are mainly interested in the brightening effect, maybe you want to buy a product such as Clinque's Even Better Clinical Spot Corrector rather than MAC's BB.

ah potentially then... although i have never done well with Clinque products... at least the skin care ones - they always break me out!

Basically that is the idea. If you keep using it over a long period of time, it is suppose to lighten your complexion. I used to use BB creams everyday and I did notice significant fading of acne scars and generally my skin looked less dull. Its just that my face doesn't like things with sunscreen :( Otherwise I really like how bb creams made my skin look. Some cheap ones to try on ebay are skin79 pink or gold label and the missha perfect cover you could get on ebay. I bought from ruby something. be careful, some can be counterfeit. you could put more concealer over the bb creams for extra coverage. the texture of my skin was also naturally dewy when I washed everything off. of course, results may vary for everyone.
