I have no problem with it. I am not FOR perse, but it doesn't bother me one bit. What does bother me is men who are creepy about it. Like Joes_into_mac on mua... he's creepy. Apparently he is striahgt.. and yet wears colored polish and blush etc and seems to act like he thinks there's something wrong wit hit

I mean.. be gay or be straight and wear makeup but don't feel funny about it because people can tell you feel weird about it and then they feel weird as well. Make sense at all? probly not :p

anyways, all the power to you and any other boys who want to wear mu.

I had an ex that wore concealer. He tried to hide it from me but come on, a girl can always tell (plus I found the tube in his bathroom). I didn't have a problem with it but when asked him about it he flipped out on me and got really insecure. I really didn't care... at most I would have shared some application tips with him, but his attitude was a real turnoff. He was insecure about a lot of things though, not just makeup.

Even women are criticized these days for wearing makeup, especially if it's visible. People assume that you hate how you look or something. I think it's the opposite.

OMG I knooowwww.

I wore IMO a pretty pink blush one day to school and my friends flipped! It's not like I looked like a clown or anything, haha.

I'm all for anyone wearing MU in good taste. And by that I mean that it should be suitable to the occasion. If you're going out, by all means give it your best shot and let us all admire your creation. Sometimes it may just be a day for foundation, powder and lipgloss...Girl, Guy what does it matter?
BTW...where that chick lives is no excuse for her rudeness. I live in Texas, vote conservatively, listen to Rush Limbaugh, but I can still accept and RESPECT everyone in there own endeavors.
So, please by all means continue to share all of your beautiful creations with us here and if you're wanting thoughtful, considerate criticism on application...I'm sure that that can be accomodated if you put that in your FOTD post.

LOVE Ya!!!**

I come from super-conservative farmer-ville so I had not really seen makeup on men until I came to this forum. Now that I have seen it a bit I have no problem with it. If you like it then go for it. I like it when guys look a bit polished. Onederland I think you look really great in makeup.

To sum up my feelings... where what you want, feel good about it, and screw the closed-minded people who don't like it.

Men in makeup doesn't bother me a bit. Alot of my boy friends in HS wore makeup, it wasn't a big deal. Not to mention my first crush was Adam Ant, who wore tons of makeup lol! I guess that girl who was so rude just doesn't get it. Who knows why? I mean, I am from the midwest (Indianapolis) and I live in Tennessee now, I go to church and I am pretty conservative I guess, (I don't *look* like it, which is even more subversive heh heh...) but I still completely respect your right to wear makeup if you want, and I appreciate you sharing your killer skills with all of us! Please keep it up!

I know this post is a bit old but I had to comment. I had to quote Midnightlouise bc I too was sooooo in love with Adam Ant and quite frankly still am,... (Wow, about 15 year crush going? Must be an Indiana thing?) I personally feel that MU is very good way to express artistic creativeness for everyone,.... I know that I have no space to airbrush, paint, etc,..so my art comes out more in my vivid and colorful show-girlie looks. It is just another form of self expression,... years ago it was the same with tattoos,.... if you got one you were a low life or a "biker" ect,.. now they are commonplace and even trendy,.....piercings as well. I think Onederland and Littlemakeupboy are just way ahead of their time and someday everyone else will just be starting to catch up with them,.... Personally I am attracted to the "mean and rough" type guy myself**, but I will tell ya what,.... Ant, Bowie, and all the MU wearing 80's rockers with hair bigger and longer than mine,....still hold a crush-bound place in my heart,....

**I have to admit I am a jealous little witch,.. the first time a guy came outta my boudoir looking prettier then me,.. he'd be yesterday's news so perhaps being attracted to this type is self defense,.. LOL!

I just want to add my two cents, semi-on-topic, as a girl with midwestern roots who's spent most of her adult life in San Francisco...

For me personally, black eyeliner makes everyone hotter. This is just God's own truth. Man or woman, gay or straight, it's just hot. I don't know if this is due to having grown up in love with Motley Crue or what..

However, a man wearing foundation would automatically cause me to assume that he's gay. Which is neither here nor there, but that's what I'd think. I'd also think he'd make a great pal to talk MU with! I once thought I'd made the perfect friend, a MA for NARS at Saks who was Italian and beautiful and was sooo generous with compliments that I immediately agreed to go out for a drink with him after he'd done my MU. I assumed we'd just drink and chat about make up and men, but he came onto me and it really threw me.. so, I guess my point is that if you, as a boy, choose to wear a full face of MU, then prepare to confuse the opposite sex, because you will. Or you'll confuse me, anyway

i thought i'd post on here also, even though its really old but yeh :p

I am 17, male and a ballroom dancer and i've been doing my partners hair and makeup for about 2 years. I've learnt over those years that makeup is my passion, along with ballroom dancing and next year im going to enrol in a NAPOLEON diploma! yay! (napoleon is a big makeup brand here in australia...i think it's been released in the usa recently also, its awesome www.napoleonperdis.com)

I wear concealer under my eyes everyday to cover dark circles (from my hectic non stop life!) which aren't that bad but i always feel that i look so much better when they're covered, i look so much fresher! I don't like personally wearing foundation on myself as i think it is too obvious for guys to have PERFECT flawless skin, and luckily my skin is quite good anyhow. Mind you in saying this, i don;t think id have a prob dating a guy who wore makeup at all, like everyone here has said, theres NOTHING wrong with it...i personally wouldnt date someone who full on wore eyeshadow, liner, blush, glittery lipgloss and the whole shibang etc...but i'd have absolutely no issue with a guy who wore all that, what so ever...
I'm travelling to the USA in a few weeks and UK and Russia, all for dancing so i can't WAIT to buy some cheap makeup! DUTY FREE, HERE I COME!

Anyhow thought i'd give my 2 bobs worth!
I totally luv specktra, im on here everyday looking for inspiration (in between doing home school, lol) and all u guys are awesome, keep on posting!

mwahs luv damian :p

EVERYONE- has the right to choose to do whatever he or she wants, reguardless of gender. Its a shame that someone will pass judgement on someone else, when they probably don't take a good look in the mirrior at themselves.

Your right about one thing... some men are better at m/u...... AND HAIR!!!

Hotness! I forgot all about Adam Ant. I also loved Johnny Depp's eyes in Pirates of the Caribbean; funny, apparently in those times it was worn to scare people but...well, it just made him look hotter.

Whoever made that point about boys in black eyeliner - I concur heartily, also have a weakness for fairer-skinned boys (or light-haired) wearing black mascara, it just looks really good on them.

well, being a gal from the midwest (SW IL) & having my high school boyfriend wear mu as well as both of us being in theatre, etc. seeing guys in mu is a no-brainer for me. i don't necessarily think that where one is from has that much of an influence these days, the electronic age exposes us to so much. i'm rambling...either way, i have no issue w/ it whatsoever.
