to me makeup is for everyone. societey has labeled and pushed it on women more than men but there is lines of makeup especially for men called complection enhancers..my boyfriend wears Jean Paul Gaultiers line of lipsticks and bronzers and it dosent make me say OOH he wears makeup something isisnt right here!

im fine with boys wearing makeup, they are the same as us HUMAN. they just have more junk in the front of their pants thats all lol.. and as MAC's motto goes All Races, All Sexes, All Ages

THE END

I think it's awesome. It's refreshing to see diversity in anything, ya know? And it's cool when you go to the MAC counter and see guys working and they're into it just as much as you are! and it's the best when they're really good at applying it! ha. I think it's cool.
BUT- for some reason, I only like it if gay guys are wearing the makeup. If there's a straight guy wearing eyeliner or something to try to look 'punk' that annoys me. because they're usually really bad at putting it on. and it's not like they're really into makeup. You guys know what i mean?

I don't have a problem with men in makeup, but I agree with what some people have said about boyfriends and fathers and stuff. I tend to be a fairly tolerant person, and I wouldn't judge a guy if he's wearing makeup, but chances are high that I wouldn't be attracted to that guy, even if he was straight. So I'm not going to say that someone isn't as good as makeupless guys, but I wouldn't want to date someone who wore makeup. But I would just like to stress one more time, I have no problem with guys wearing makeup, and I wouldn't mind being friends with someone who wore makeup (As long as they were the kind of personality that I would be friends with), but I'm not attracted to that kind of thing.

But I do have to say good job to Onederland for your creativity in makeup, and your bravery for bringing up the topic.

I will be perfectly blunt.

Boys in makeup are hot.

As long as they keep the facial hair to a min because that often distracts from the art.

My husband has had makeup done at the Mac counter twice now. He's bald with a goatee. It was just eyeliner done in a smokey look, but it was wonderful. We ended up buying products just for him.

Of course, lots of people stared at him while at the counter. People in Tulsa Oklahoma just aren't used to seeing a guy getting makeup done.

I don't like men in make-up. I like my men manly looking, not wearing lipgloss and the stuff I wear. Of course some straight men wear make-up like cover up, but no one I ever been with has. I think gay guys more or less are the ones who wear blush, shadow and gloss. In my opinion I don't think they should, but if they want to then that's their choice and no one can say if it's right or wrong.

If men like wearing makeup they should totally do it. That also goes for crying, rearing children, and doing dishes. Go gender equality.

I think the whole idea of thinking men in makeup is weird is just ridiculous. Once upon a time they were more made up than women, and even at times only made up while women were not. Not to mention that its pretty contrary to nature, if you look at most animals, the male is the flashy one who tries to pretty himself up so he has the best chance with the most ladies!

Anyway its all fashion.. no matter how much people think they are original or genuine in their dislike of it, they are just thinking what their culture tells them to. It will change again in time...

personally i am not attracted to men wearing makeup but i dont see anything wrong with it. like the girl above me my fave ma is a man and he is probably one of the only people i trust to do my makeup... he's awsome and knows more of what suits me than any other person i've gone to. so, if they know what they are doing, i think guys should wear whatever pleases them!!!

men in make-up

I hope this doesn't offend anyone and if it does it can be deleted.

I notice looking online that men are wearing make-up. Even more then me and I was wondering how everyone feels about this. I know most are gay, but I still disagree with it. I feel like make-up is girly and men should be manly. I could see if men were make-up artists, but wearing it just doesn't look right to me.

Watch everyone yell now.

Since I wear cover-up to cover those blemishes I get, I think it's perfectly normal for both guys and girls to wear make-up. Make-up these days isn't just meant for women anymore and more men are using make-up these days recognizable or not.

I could see like cover up, but i mean like the whole full on eyeshadows, blush lipstick deal. Even tho I say cover up is cool, I still wouldn't date a man who used any kind of make-up.

The M·A·C slogan is of course that their customers are ALL RACES, ALL SEXES, ALL AGES

I personally have no problems seeing guys in makeup - whether they are gay/straight/makeup artists/whatever. The guys on this forum who have shared their pictures with us look great - more power to them!

I think it's cool that more guys are starting to wear makeup. Most guys that I know personally that do (consisting of the whole she-bang, e/s, liner, but no lipstuff) actually aren't "manly" at all, they are quite feminine. They're gay, but I have straight manly friends that wear tinted moisturizer. And then I have gay friends that are quite manly, just as manly as any lumberjack lol and would never wear any type of makeup. To me, I see nothing wrong with it, but find it interesting that now makeup has crossed the bridge to a new audience. I especially love it when I find a man wearing makeup that has better skills than any woman I know!

It doesn't bother me one way or another. There are some men that look really great in makeup and some....well, not so good. Some are downright sexy in it. If they are happy with the way they look, then more power to them. I refuse to follow the old gender standards of what is considered masculine/feminine - life is too short to have a closed mind.
