I'd like to know that, and also is it REALLY that great compared to other mascaras? If so, How do they do it? What could they do that that's different?

for me, it's really great. since i loved dior show so much i knew there were others that are just great. so i tested tried, combined and found some good stuff, but came back to my dior show.

for example.. i love thick, lengthening, falsie dupe lashes (not super natural and fluffy) but not tacky like dolly pardon or tammy faye, but.. you get my drift right... so i love covergirl lash exact and volume exact.... also rimmel volum'eyes... i usually combo volum'eyes (for volume) and covergirl volume exact (for the comb thru definition and lengthening)... well i revisited my dior show, which i got the same, if not better, effect with 2-3 coats. it's super pigmented and the formula is great and thick. the brush is HUGE and cand be clumsy, but i've learned to work with it. my little secret-- i've always been a fan of almay mascara.. i swear it is the drugstore version of dior... but dior smells great! like body lotion. oh one other drawback with dior... if you like feather weight lashes.. this isn't the mascara for you... i don't notice how heavy my lids are until about 1/2 way into the day.......

Diorshow (regular or waterproof) is my HG mascara - clump free and gives thick, long and curly false-looking lashes.

I've tried both dior unlimited and blackout recently but went back to my diorshow, here's why:

Dior Unlimited - if you like the finely/thinnly separated lashes, this may be for you - but it doesn't give you the volume that diorshow gives..also, it tends not to hold a curl that well

Blackout - personally, this seems like a mediocore mascara, it lengths, volumes, and curls a bit like any other mascara, but for eye-opening, doll-like dramatic lashes, I'd definitely go back to diorshow

I just bought dior unlimited (I thought it was the same as Diorshow!), and I just tried it. I don't really like it and it doesn't look special at all. So, I'm going back tommorow to exchange for diorshow. Hopefully that will look better.

What's special about it? Is it the same formula just with a different brush? On the Sephora website it says it makes you have "doe eyes". What in the world does that mean?

From what I've read, it's supposed to have a very high concentration of black khol pigment and therefore it's supposed to give you super-awesome lashes. I've heard that often makeup artists will powder their model's lashes backstage for fashion shows and this stuff is supposed to achieve the same effect.

Blogdorf Goodman's got a short but pretty good review of the stuff here.

I think I just may end up buying it.

though, apparently the volume isnt anywhere near as intense as within plain old Diorshow

Now I really will have to try it: volumizing mascara just clumps my lashes together and makes me look trashy as hell. If this stuff gives you super-deep black lashes without the volume of Diorshow, then it sounds perfect for me. But I can definately see where it would suck for a lot of other people.

My normally wimpy lashes look mega-fake when I use DiorShow (the original one)...I love it!

I just got it and I love it. I like the Unlimited alot better than the regular. The regular has such a huge brush, I had a hard time manipulating it the right way.

I tried Diorshow (original) in a mini size last year. IMO, the worst mascara I've ever tried, drugstore or high end. Way too dry, and I didn't see what all the hype was about.

I read that the new one is wetter and thinner, but still scented. I am wondering if the scent would bother me.
