The code works on the brush holder too!

How many brushes can you fit in it? Is it a decent size?

EDIT: JUST READ THE ESSENTIALS CODE IS FOR TODAY ONLY
Thanks a lot. I saw and liked your post earlier but couldn't respond until now. Target also has a $5 gift card with purchase of 3 select NYX items through 11/21/2015 so I bought a lipstick, eye liner and their primer and it cost me $16.91 taxes in with the discount (I also have a Red Card) and I get the $5 gift card.

Nice deal! I skipped the Kashuk brush set too since Yarah says it is scratchy.. I picked up the Pixi Glow Tonic and "Correction Concentrate" (ie, their corrector/concealer)..and I like both.

I did read on NouveaCheap (and on Target's website) that for Black Friday - they will be having 25% off beauty.

I saw the brush holder in store and it is BEAUTIFUL, but sort of small.

Well, I think it is kind of on the small side... but that might be because I have a zillion brushes!

Ha, I bought the brush holder shortly after our last discussion. I have it along with two other SK ones holding brushes. I saw some brush sets on clearance at my Target last week I think but I didn't buy any. It definitely wasn't the gold handled ones, it was the burgundy plaid looking ones I think and makeup. Looks like my Target currently has the Facet-nating ones for $28.

how many brushes does it fit? I might end up going back lol. I have two Target's within 5 miles of me - and one has the Facet-inating set for $28 and the other has it for $19.98... The burgundy plaid set looks cheaply made, tbh.. I was thinking about getting the animal print set, but it is only 30% off.. I prefer 50% or more off.. lol.

Hmmm, not sure how many it holds. I'll check later. Yeah, there's a reason I wasn't interested in the plaid: quality, clearance cost or the brushes weren't anything I needed. I love that animal print and I agree with you.

^^^^^ Pretty brushes! I have been following your SK brush discussion. Reminded me that SK brushes were among the first I bought outside of MAC.

O
ver the past few years all these other high end & low end brands have exploded. Last summer I took a chance on synthetic (vegan) brushes by Crown and I absolutely love them. Super soft and do not irritate or pull my skin. The WnW brushes remind me of those. Even though many rave about the Wayne Goss or Hakuhodo, I just cannot bring myself to spend that kind of money. And what about Morphe?...just makes me think of overpriced Sigma brushes. I truly wonder how many brands are pulling from the same manufacturers and just printing and packaging them under their brand? Anymahoozy, I still reach for a couple of my SK brushes now. And the few specialty MAC brushes I've purchased have held up extremely well. Those mixed in with some Japonesque, tarte, & Crown brushes I have a pretty good collection of tools.

Has anyone seen the new Spring 2016 brush sets in their Target yet? I saw a picture of one of the new sets, it has black and white handles with writing and then bright yellow bristles. I haven't seen them in store yet or online but I have no idea when they usually start putting those up.

I definitely don't need the yellow brush set...but I also didn't need the Facet-Nating set and the Star Struck set and I got them anyway lol. I'm still upset about missing out on that gorgeous Color Crazed set (the aqua blue ones) and the Spring 2015 ones with the hot pink bristles. Those are absolutely stunning and I'm so sad I missed out on them!

I've heard mixed reviews about SK brush sets but honestly I think they're amazing, especially for their price. I bought the 15th Anniversary set back in 2014 and I still use those brushes daily! They're still in amazing shape too. I got the Facet-Nating set (the white bristles with gold carved handles) for christmas and I've been using them pretty much daily since then. Some of them are super soft and definitely feel (and look) pretty luxurious for their price. I just got the Star Struck set about a week ago for $20-ish and they're pretty great too.

I'll post some pics later of all three of my sets...just in case anyone possibly wants to see lol.

EDIT: Here we go! The purple set is the 15th Anniversary Set from 2014, the ones with the carved handles is the Facet-Nating set from Fall 2015, and then the Star Struck set also from Fall 2015

Maaaan I want that yellow set now. Nothing can make up for my missing out on the hot pink and aqua sets though lol!

I just realized from my purple set, the sonia kashuk label has rubbed off of the blending brush and the angled eyeliner brush bc I've used them so many times lol! I use the angled one for my brows a lot.

I also wonder how many companies use the same manufacturer.. and just slap their name on it. I bet lot. I love Crown brushes - I have a lot from hautelook. and I have a ton of Morphe brush sets. They are hit or miss, but they also go on hautelook for super cheap.. and I constantly fall for it.

I just saw your pictures for the newest brushes. I hadn’t seen them yet. The eye brush set looks intriguing.

heya! I am good.. Thank you for asking ! I have not bought any Sonia Kashuk shadows.. I have heard the Eye on Neutral palette is good.. but the colors look similar to the Viseart Neutral matte palette, which I already have.. I have always been curious about the 12 pan shimmer palettes though.. They look beautiful.
