With some Showers, I've experienced burning of the eyes and now I try to be more careful applying it direct. Maybe I need to be a little more gentle with the stroke technique first so my eyes don't get burned as easy. I swear, sometimes it's like salt got thrown to your pupils and the smell is really strong...never knew if that was normal of Showers.

Amazing product. I don't use as a full face primer, just for my eyelids. Eye makeup stays in place all day! It's great. And a little goes a loooong way. I would recommend!

Re: Monistat Chafing Relief Gel

my bf thinks its cute that i like to put on makeup so when i told him about this monistat chafing gel, he took me to walmart to find it. when we got to the feminine care isle and looked for the brand 'monistat', all we saw were monistat brand vaginal creams and i felt really dumb!!!! then the next day we looked again because i swore i wasnt crazy and this product does exist and we found it hidden behind the vaginal stuff.. he still teases me about how i wanted to get vajayjay cream to put on my face hahaha .... ive been using this stuff for about a month now and its makes it ALOT easier to smooth on foundation... it doesnt have spf so i mix it with neutrogena sunblock , put on my foundation, then blot powder and that keeps my skin from getting really oily.

How is everyone applying this to their skin? Sponges or just fingers?

*goes to walmart and buys*

How the hell does anyone find out about products like this?
One day they're rubbing this stuff down there, then decide to smear it on their face! lol

People think "down there" because of the product maker, but you can have chaffing anywhere. There are some comparable products in the aisle where 1st aid & foot products are kept.

I wore a dress to an office party that had a sequence empire style top; it rubbed my arms RAW, this product came to the rescue.

I use my hands on myself, but I use a brush when applying to others. I wouldn't use a sponge, it would soak up a lot of your product.

I really like this stuff. It is comparable to BE primer. I don't use this everyday because I'm afraid of my pores clogging but I love it for longer days. I apply it after my moisturizer with my fingers. I do need to let it dry for a couple minutes before I apply my foundation.

btw- this thread is pretty entertaining.

Re: Monistat Chafing Relief Gel

I'm new but just had to throw out my love for this stuff, it's incredible!

I purchased it after reading about it on several boards, and not really wanting to take the primer-virgin-plunge with smashbox or one of the other more hefty-priced primers. I stayed out late one night and had an interview early the next morning and several other things to get done, so sadly I didn't have time to come home, shower, and reapply my makeup. I literally woke up with a perfect face (several friends of mine even commented on how perfect my makeup looked, not knowing it was from the night before!). I just had to retouch up my lips and go! Ultimately, I'd say it kept me perfect for at least 36 hours, haha, including my tossy-turny sleep, amazing.

There is a similar product called "Lanacane anti chafing gel" that is available in Oz, I've read good reviews on it from a few UK girls (seems monistat is hard to find over there also) I'm yet to try it as I still have my smashbox primer but plan on buying it once that runs out.

see a review here: Review : Lanacane Anti-Chafing Gel Charan's Addiction

I'm bought Lanacane Anti Chafing Gel & it's fantastic! It definitely works & gives me a "blank canvas". My foundation goes on much smoother. I don't use it everyday however as it sometimes breaks me out if I use it everyday but I do use it every now and again.

I got mine from a CVS in New York. It's unlikely that this product is sold out here. Well, I've never seen it.

All the smashbox, lancome, mac primers are basically repackaged silicones. This is the same exact thing for less! As a disclaimer though, I have already used all the brands mentioned. Trail and error they say. : )

So glad to hear this works on super oily girls like myself. I tried to find it tonight at Kroger, but all I found was the vajayjay fungal creams. I'll have to try Walmart tomorrow! I'm currently using Benefits Porefessional but it is NOT doing a damn thing for me.

I used this a handful of times last year...and while I did love it...a week or 2 after use I broke out in big under the skin type of pimples skin colored bumps..stopped whne I stopped using it though. I may try it out again and use a toner at night that will strip everything off and see if I still break out...
