sorry it's only text...i couldn't really get any good photos of the technique.

i suggest using mac powerpoint eyeliner pencils for the waterline because they're soft, so they're less likely to irritate your eyes; and they have pretty amazing staying power. for the tightlining, i highly recommend mac fluidlines for their staying power and wide range of colours. you'll need a flat eyeliner brush for the tightlining. mine is a square shape, which i find easiest and most precise.

when lining the waterline, simply place a finger right below your bottom lashes and pull down slightly to expose the waterline. take your eyeliner pencil and draw a steady line right up against the lashes. try to stay as close to your lashes as possible to avoid irritating your eyes too much. i usually go over my line several times to make sure the product is dispersed evenly. shut your eyes real tight and blink a few times, this will spread the product onto the upper waterline. redraw your bottom line to make sure you don't have any sparse patches.

to tightline your upper lashline, put your finger at the outer corner of your eye and pull slightly off to the side. pick up some fluidline on your flat brush and place the brush right up against the lashes, angling it slightly down towards your lips. drag the brush slowly along the lashline until it meets your finger. this will give you a slight wing to add a tiny bit of drama and extra fullness to your lashes. some people prefer to smudge their liner to create a more natural finish, if this is for you then now is the time to pull out the q-tips and smudge that liner!
