I assumed she had no idea what she was talking about or maybe they are not allowed to give any info out

Thank you. Naturel might be too dark even for summer for me. I am nc 15 during winter and nc20 during summer . I haven't really tanned in 5 years

Sorry if I missed, but I don't think anyone posted this one. It's Brunette Naturel. https://instagram.com/p/zQE18oPNKU/?modal=true

According to my rough translation, I believe the first commenter is saying she is medium skin-toned and it's very subtle on her, but it shows very well on those with lighter skin. I could be misunderstanding though. Anyone speak fluent French?!

I'm totally confused about what shade to buy. This is the darkest one - right?

It appeared to be the darkest to me too Ella. That's the one I was referring to as a possibility IF I decide to go for one. I first saw it on Neiman's WS.

We definitely need more photos (and swatches ideally!). Based on what I've sen so far I can't even tell if all the powders have the same undertone or if some are warmer than the others. When I saw these photos ( http://chicprofile.com/2015/02/guerlain-terracotta-joli-teint-powder-duo-and-sun-serum-2015.html ) I thought maybe it looked like the Clair Brunette was warmer than the others (which would suit me best personally) but it's so hard to tell. These are an "IF" for me too...or if the brunettes pop up on Sephora or Nordies I might check one out knowing that at least I have the option of returning if it doesn't work out. (Although I think you can return opened cosmetics to Bloomies too if I'm not mistaken?) Strange that Sephora only has the blondes up right now. (Although, I have 04 Sun Blondes in the Terracotta sheer bronzing powder and I'm brunette so...I'm really not sure this blonde/brunette thing is very helpful LOL).

No problem. I think the original poster is actually saying all 4 shades are discreet and very natural (but that's typical of the Guerlain bronzers and powders I have). It's the first commenter who is saying "you have to be pale" (or something like that LOL). But, who knows. I certainly hope at least one of these is suitable for medium skintone++ and WOC!!

I also thought it was odd that Sephora only had two of the line options and neither are in stock. I'm wondering if they're just preparing. This happened last week with
the Dolce & Gabbana collection. They added a couple of pieces each day it seemed until they had it all. Very strange.

In a moment of weakness (what a surprise) I went ahead and ordered Brunette Natural 03 with the hope that it will work well with my Joli Teint Foundation. I used
Neiman's w/free shipping and 8% cash back via Mr Rebates. Have I adequately justified this purchase?

Ok here is what I'm gathering from the conversation (in French) on this instagram post: https://instagram.com/p/y9i5BXBRwI/?modal=true

The poster says they all leave a light healthy glow on the face. She says they're more pigmented than Chanel les Beiges. She says 03 Natural Brunette is matte whereas 02 Natural Blondes is irridescent. Oddly she found 02 was darker than 03. She says these are much less pigmented than the classic terracotta, but slightly warm the complexion.

So, I'm as confused as ever.

I think you're right about Sephora. I'm hoping they end up getting all 4, but if not I'll probably opt for Bloomingdales.

Not that you need to justify any purchase here on Specktra
girlhaha.gif
but absolutely you have justified it! I would have made the same decision if I were you. The information in my previous post suggests Natural Blondes *may* be darker but that's just one person's experience so there's no telling. I was considering Clair Brunettes but if these are that subtle I'm thinking maybe I should get one of the Naturals. I'm more concerned about which one is warmer than which one is darker. I can always adjust how light or heavy my hand is, but if the powder is too cool or pink I'm screwed LOL.

I didn't think 02 looked darker than 03, but it wasn't as warm as 03. The powder portion of 02 seemed more pink toned than 03, which appeared warmer w/more orange tone.

I agree. I thought 02 looked cooler as well. So that's my dilemma. I thought both brunettes looked warmer than the blondes. So I still think I'll end up trying one of the Brunettes - I may hold out a little bit longer and see if any additional pics turn up. Otherwise, I'll flip a coin!

I'm just going to have to swatch these in store... hopefully they hit counters before the end of March while I'm home for spring break and by a Guerlain counter!

I saw these at the Bay last week but they didn't have testers yet. The SA opened the lightest for me. It was very light; I'm reasonably fair skinned (I use Terracotta 00) and it would have been too light for me. I wouldn't buy these blind, personally. I'm going to swatch this week in store.

I hope so too Lauren! I wish I lived near a Guerlain counter. There's a Sephora an hour away from me. I do have a return to make so I may call tomorrow and see if they're going to be getting these. I was also hoping they'd be getting the Nars dual-intensity blushes. Would certainly help justify the drive! ;-)

Thank you that's very helpful! Sounds like the consensus is these are light and subtle.

Why yes, there is someone here who speaks French... The first comment says that the effect is very natural/ soft and that for once, there isn't a scent to the powder. There is an exchange further down about how the powders aren't suited to a "matte" complexion. (I think she means dry complexion.)

Well, if you're confused, it's not because of the language barrier. What you got from it is exactly right. I'm definitely on team swatch with these. I'll need to see them against my skin.

I have the Joli Teint foundation and I love it, so I went ahead and pre-ordered 03 Brunettes Natural, which appeared to be the darkest of the four options.
I love the Joli teint foundation too. I need to buy a new one. It's almost gone

Yes! Thank you my French-speaking Canadian friend!

I was on a mission to learn French a couple of years ago but of course without anyone to practice with, it's all academic (and easily forgotten). Made it through several Pimsleur lessons, and did my best with this using Google Translate. But thank you for doing a proper translation!

I'm on #teamswatch in spirit, but if my nearest Sephora doesn't have them I may just have to pick blindly and hope for the best.
