Guerlain discussion

Awickedshape you might want to try Tocca Cleopatra, it has the same DNA of SI and LVEB. My personal taste declaring Tocca Cleopatra the winner, lighter, and less sweet but still with patchouli. But if you do not want any patchouli but still want a sweet/gourmand scent try Tom Ford Noir pour femme, I love that perfume and it is super well blend.

Thanks!
I will have to check to see if I have a sample of Noir. His scents evoke very strong feelings lol either lover or hate lol
Surprisingly found myself intrigued by Grey Vetiver, which I'd not my usual scent

None of my Tom Ford scents are my usual but I love them a lot and get a lot of compliments on them. I thought I would have liked Noir Pour Femme the most but I actually like Velvet Orchid more. Noir Pour Femme doesn't seem to last very long on me which is weird.

I really will have to look for that sample.
Velvet Orchid is my favourite so far. Tobacco Oud was the worst.
At the office one of my friends loved VO and the other couldn't stand it lol

I never smell Grey Vetiver, I guess I need to add it to my list of perfume to smell at my next Sephora visit.

I love Velvet Orchid but I purchased Black Orchid when it launch so to curb my desire to purchased another bottle I'm wearing BO with Serge Lutens Bois de Violette it is not the same but similar enough to hold off the purchased VO. Noir pour Femme doesn't last long on you???? it must be your body chemistry because it usually last 24hrs on me!

Oud can sometime smell so soapy. :( I never smell Tobacco Oud but Oud is a tricky one for me if I can smell a soap bar i'm usually turn off by the scent. I can name only a couple of perfume with out that I really like and none are coming from Tom Ford.

The Candy Perfume Boy usually like sweet scent, Angel, Alien Etc so it doesn't surprise me he liked it. I wouldn't blind buy base on his recommendation just because he REALLY love Angel and you know what they say Angel is a LOVE it or HATE it and i'm on the Hate category .... I think he also love La Vie set Belle so we definitively do not share the same taste in perfume. LOL Monsy did you tell us why you didn't like Mon Guerlain? i'm curious to size more your taste in perfume ... you said you like Cuir Beluga who does share some similarities with Mon Guerlain.

he is my fragrance twin and I talk to him daily about fragrance. I am not gonna comment if he liked it or not but wanted to post this article that is not really fragrance review but more of explanation of where is guerlain headed.

I do love alien it is my all time favorite and nothing compares to it. it is like it's name says out of this world. Angel I like but not as much and angel is either love or hate and it very depends on someons skin - often it smells like cat pee

what else do you want to know? I like different scents. Currently I am obsessed with MFK, Jo Malone and Chanel les exclusifs.

It's really weird isn't it! Especially as I have no problems with Velvet Orchid. I must say though that I may also be slightly allergic to Noir Pour Femme. I kept getting a rash behind my ears where I would normally put the fragrance. I've laid off of it and will try again in a few weeks to see if it really was the NPF, a one-off allergy or something else altogether. It would suck if I am allergic to something in it because I really love the scent.

Oh nice! It must be fun having a discussion with him! Yes I read both articles his review on Mon Guerlain and his resumé on Guerlain strategy to recover a part of the perfume market... I read a couple weeks ago on Lainey's gossip that they expect big revenue for the perfume around $75 million in the 1st year.
I also have several flanker or Alien, les parfums de cuir, taste of Frangrance, absolue, and Liqueur de parfum after four flankers I decided I had enough Aliens in my collection and passed on Alien Oud Majestueux.
I'm always been interested by MFK Grand Soir, Absolue Grand Soir and Baccarat Rouge 540 look so promising, what are your favourite so far?

Guerlain Art de la Matière does the same for my if I spray on my neck it become itchy and red ... I try to spray somewhere else on my body because it doesn't have the same effect anywhere else. My aunt who have work alot as a facialist told me the skin on the neck is more sensitive ,

That makes a lot of sense. I'll have to stick to spraying it on my wrists if it continues to irritate.

alien absolu i probably love even more than regular edp. warm sweet creaminess.
oud majesteux i got the sample and it is awful. the only alien i hated ever. i am waiting for the new musk one.

MFK grand soir (Wearing it today it's silage and staying power monster) and baccarat rouge are my favorites from his line. baccarat is like nothing else i have ever smelled. it's incredible. LVMH just bought him the other day I honestly hope they do not f his brand up.

MR guerlain posted couple of times that guerlain is planning to open 100 boutiques around the world in the next 10 years so mon guerlain is their first step to that.

Yes! Fragrance can affect your mood and bring back memories associated with it. Our brains remember scent better than most memories. Unfortunately, finding great fragrances isn't easy. Guerlain's marketing is a good idea if it really drives new customers to their other products. The problem is it isn't really easy to find their other great perfumes and seems like many of their current counters are disappearing or seem neglected.

I've never gotten into fragrance because of my migraines. I still love a good scent though. I found that the woodsy and citrusy scents work best for me instead of floral. But even if I find one I like and it doesn't affect me, if I get even a little headache have something on, it is a wrap for me. I even stay away from scented bath products.

I tested Mon Guerlain on me today. At first I really didn't like it, then I really did and now I don't like it again. Just smells really "soapy" now. Nah.

the more I wear it the more I like it. It is extremely likeable commercial scent. think scents like light blue, la vie est belle, gucci guilty, coco mademoiselle - not that they smell similar but the boom they made on the market and everyone wanted to buy it... this is the next one what will make huge sales for sure. guerlain had this plan to make $$$ and I think they will succeed
