Vitamin D seems to protect against just about everything, from cancer and depression to heart disease and an earlier death. It can slow weight gain.It can reduce your risk of uterine fibroids.

Vitamin D plays a substantial role in the regulation of calcium and maintenance of phosphorus levels in the blood, two factors that are extremely important for maintaining healthy bones. If you have chronic pain you may want to reassess your vitamin D levels.Vitamin D has been proven to lower insulin, improve serotonin levels, enhance the immune system, control appetite and even improve fat-loss efforts.

It does have to be present in our body, helps our bone growth which is something to do with calcium. Too much may cause harm.
