I was curious about how to get that gold flaky nail effect shown in the Antiquitease promo image, so I contacted Live Chat...

Jara: Hi Jackie
jackie: Hi jara. I really love the new Antiquitease nail laquers. i was wondering about the technique used on the model's nails though.
jackie: i'd really like to achieve something to that effect
Jara: I can definitely help you with that...
Jara: My colleague actually did that look on her nails the other day and this is how she did it..
jackie: thank you
Jara: She first put a coat of Vestral White Nail Lacquer and let it dry...then she did a light coat of Gold Veneer and before it was dry she took a piece of crumpled plastic and lightly pressed it on top...
Jara: Sounds a bit strange...but it worked and looked great!
jackie: thank you so much. does this technique work with all the nail lacquers or just those two?
Jara: I'm sure it will give that same effect with all the lacquers...I haven't tried it personally though

Jara: I hope this information has helped you.
Jara: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?
jackie: no, thank you though
Jara: Thank you for visiting MAC Live Chat!

Just a head's up for you all who are interested in this technique, I actually tried it last week and it looked really cool. Instead of white and gold I used black and silver, it had a kind of abstract, grafitti feel to it.

I tried taking pics, but the cameras I've had access to are all craptacular.
