NARS 'Pure Radiant' Tinted Moisturizer

i think one spf on top of another is just too much for any skin, oily especially
Yeah, I sometimes double up (use a foundation or moisturizer with SPF over a "real" sun screen), but my base is always a physical rather than a chemical sunscreen, as I find those to be a lot less oily (at least the one I use). Unless you really love the product, there's not much use combining something that has built in SPF with a sunscreen- SPF doesn't compound (you just get the benefit of the highest one you're wearing) and with foundations/ tinted moisturizers that have it built in, you wouldn't use enough for it to be an effective sunscreen.

This my HG foundation! :) I think it would be perfect if it came in a couple shades lighter and a couple of shades darker. I'm around NC10 and Finland is a tiny bit too dark. I have to really blend to make sure i don't walk out the door with the dreaded line. Overall, I love it. It's a must have! Now, i'm on search for the perfect medium coverage for around that time of month :O)

When looking for information about the Light Optimizing primer, I found something else. It seems NARS will release 2 new shades of Tinted Moisturizers some time next year:
- Light 0: Terre Neuve
- Light 3: Groenland

Since the FDA's regulations about products containing sunscreen have been changed, all products offering UVB and UVA protection are now called "broad spectrum" (with SPF still indicated), and packaging must include instructions and warnings.
Marketing start date is recent, and packaging indicate that it's compliant with new regulations, so I guess those are new shades, not preliminary shades that were abandoned before it went into production.

I am so happy about Light 0 Terre Neuve, as many people (I included) were asking for a lighter shade. I love it when a company takes customers' request into account. Another reason to love NARS. :)

The lightest shade is called Terre Neuve? As in Newfoundland, the province next to where most of my family was born? It's like this shade was made for me... Ironically, I've also been fascinated by Greenland for no reason I've ever been able to figure out.

Ha, my dad was stationed in Greenland around the time I was born! Heh. Topic? So happy NARS are going to put out a lighter shade of their TM. :D :D

That's not a dumb question at all. ;) The order should be:

Terre-Neuve (Light 0)
Finland (Light 1)
Alaska (Light 2)
Groenland (Light 3)
St. Moritz (Medium 1)
Annapurna (Medium 2)
Cuba (Medium 3)
Malaga (Medium/Dark 1)
Seychelles (Medium /Dark 2)
Martinique (Medium/Dark 3)
Polynesia (Dark 1)

This is my first post. Just wanted to say thanks for info on the new tinted moisturizer colors. I have very fair skin and the Finland is a touch to dark for me. I have to blend very well. I called Nars to see when it would be out for sale. They told me march 1.

Lots of ppl use their fingers but I use the Sonia Kashuk synthetic buffing brush from Target. Blends like a dream and keeps my fingers clean!
Thanks I have been using my beauty blender SK peep knock off and it works like a charm, then blend with a BE buki. I am between Finland and Alaska right now, have both b/c my skin is much paler in the winter, but I like the yellow tint in the Alaska. This is definitely my favorite TM and great base when I don't want full coverage. I like the NARS firming when I want fuller coverage. (I think I am becoming a NARS foundation addict)

Thanks for the information! I'm not sure if that date will be the same for Canada, although Nars doesn't tend to have a big difference between US and international release dates, unlike some brands *cough* CHANEL *cough*. March would be perfect for me, because it's generally when my skin looks its most light-deprived and dullest, so the beautiful radiance that this imparts will be especially welcome. I tried out Finland, but found it was a little dark for me. I could probably wear it, but I have the feeling that Terre Neuve would be a better match.

My MUA had said it could be applied with fingers (like a lot of Nars products), but I'll probably also try blending it with the UD Optical Blending Brush. I find that little baby does wonders with virtually every type of foundation.

ADORE this product! I have it in Cuba which looks great on me since I have warm & yellow undertones. Blends easy, covers enough! If I want a lot of coverage I dash a little of my MUFE's Duo Mat on top & my skin looks flawless!

NARS hasn't announced the new shades yet, they probably haven't sent press samples for the moment (or they demanded that reviews/swatches be published only after the official release date), and the new shades will be available in early march, so that's why you can't find swatches.
I guess we should just wait. ;)

Hey Katred!!!

Definitely second the UD Optical Blurring Brush. It works amazingly with all of my liquid foundations and tinted moisturizers. Bought a backup of it.

Regarding the new TM shades, I really wish NARS would release a shade in between Martinique and Polynesia (cool tone dark skins) and another between Malaga and Cuba (for warm tone dark skins). I'm still loving my Martinique in the fall/winter and Polynesia for summer.
