Ya it definitely doesn't look like there are many fair shades. I've been lucky that pretty much all brands have my shade as I fall in light medium range. It's just interesting that the Nars TM has more dark shades than even medium or light medium. There's one light shade, one light-medium, one medium and then everything else is tan or darker....would say I've never seen that before.

Hi gals (and guys), I am new to the site, but wanted to share my opinion on the new Nars TM. I am a NC4 oily skin gal, I so far I have enjoyed it. I was a past user of the Laura Mercier TM and found it a tad bit too slick/sticky for my skin. I have found that the NARS TM settles onto my skin a lot quicker. But I do set it with loose powder. As far as color match, the MUA originally matched me with St. Moritz and suggested I set it with a darker powder. I tried that for awhile but still found the color to be too pale. So I went back and out asked for a sample of Annapurna (which was too dark by itself) to mix with the St. MorItz. I found that the blended color was a much better for my warm toned skin. I ended up buying a full size of Annapurna to mix with the St. Moritz (expensive yes, I know :( ). Long story short. I am very happy with the coverage, finish, and (finally) the color. I will hold judgement on its claim to lighten discolorations until I have used it for about a month.

Okey dokey. I tried my sample of Alaska and it's definitely waaaaayyyy too dark for my skin. I'm normally a Siberia/ Mont Blanc girl (Mac NC/ NW 15). I'd say that Alaska would be a decent match to someone in the Mac 25-30 range (NC or NW). I found some of the moisturisers in store and swatched Finland on my hand, but it was a bit hard to tell whether it worked or not. It was definitely lighter than Alaska by quite a bit, but I thought it still ran a little dark on me. Maybe like a Mac shade 20 or Nars Deauville.

If I could find a colour that matched my skin, I'd definitely buy this. When I first put it on, I thought that the texture felt a little greasy, but it settles to a very nice satiny finish in no time. The coverage is a little more than I've seen from most tinted moisturisers, but it's still what I'd call a lighter coverage foundation. The lasting time is good- it hung around for several hours on me and continued to make my skin look even and healthy.

I really liked the healthy glow that it gave me. It didn't look overdone, but there was a definite radiance to my skin that I don't normally get with regular foundation. I used it on its own, but in the future, I'd definitely opt for some concealer under the eyes. Here's a pic of me wearing it:

I think that you can get a sense of the "glow" I was referring to. It's definitely very natural while providing a nice, even colour to the face.

It's definitely a nice product, they just need to get the colours figured out.
it does look like a really nice glow...actually it looks extremely close (at least to my eye)...so hopefully the next lighter will work for you!

i just passed by the nars counter tonight and ended up picking up this foundation, as well as luster blush. they were having some kind of event, and although i felt like i had spent a pretty penny , i was watching these ladies buying like 5,6 items at a time and i was wondering if they knew something i didn't!

The difference in colour is definitely more evident in person. I think that the coverage blends enough with my skin tone that the lighter shade will be fine. I'm going to give it a try, because I really like the formula.

so i gave TM a test drive today...I'm not quite ready to pass my final judgement, but it does feel very nice. I prefer it slightly to my matchmaster, because it doesn't give my nose a flaky look. i was in a really big hurry with my makeup this morning though, so i don't feel like i can properly assess the finish and colour...

I got a sample today of Seychelles - Medium dark with golden olive undertones. On my hand it was a great match the other two colors were either too red or too dark. I love the feel of this on my skin, It's lightweight like a moisturizer should be. Currently I use Laura Mercier for a Tinted Moisturizer and I think for a TM its very heavy feeling. More akin to an actual foundation. I'll update the thread when I actually use the product and give it a real world test.

What shade are you in Laura Mercier?

Loooooooooooooooooove this stuff! Got my proper color (Malaga) and I absolutely love it. Definitely gives my skin a 'glow' without making it look oily.

I got this today despite my reservations. I'm afraid of it irritating my skin, but I felt I just had to give it a try. I got Malaga and I have to say it look great on my face. I get a glow like Ingenue said. It glides on nicely and everything and I didn't have any irritation after wearing 8 hours. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

Im torn between malaga and cuba. In normal circumstances i would choose malaga according to its description but it seems like everyone who uses malaga are a bit darker than i am so im guessing malaga would be a good summer color when i'm a bit more darker but im wondering if cuba would be a great color for me now. What scares me is that cuba is described for medium skintone and im not medium lol

Well, I'm always describes as medium by Nars and Mufe, too. I think you're a tad lighter than me, so I think you'd be better off with Cuba.

i don't consider myself medium either, but i bought nars cuba, and it's a perfect match.
i wear nc44/45 in mac mineralize liquid (depending on season) and 6.0 in the matchmaster...
hope that helps!

I meant i dont consider myself medium in Nars terms cuz in MUFE medium tends to run darker than usual when it comes to "mediums". In nars i always saw myself as medium dark. All these makeup descriptions are driving me nuts! Lol

Yeah one brand says olive, the other is medium, another is deep, some say yellow. It's a headache.

Interesting. Tried Mocha and it was a match, it's the same color as Revlon's oily caramel.

It's strange with Laura Mercier my sister that wears a 180 in MUFE wears Walnut or Mocha. I've always been scared of that Revelon. Way way way too red for me.

i ended up driving all the way to sephora 30 minutes before the mall closes last night to get samples because i was too scared to order it online. (i love shopping online. dont have to deal with begging for help to get something lol) i got the sample of cuba and malaga. I wanted seychelle also but they didnt even have it on display because they had 2 cubas on display smh.

But anyways im wearing cuba on one side of my face and malaga on the other and they both are making me look a bit dark but thats cuz my chest is so light. I pretty much have to wait till i tan so that the difference from my neck chest and head wont look so drastic :( summer time please come!

I have some swatches up on my blog. hope that helps some of you guys.
