NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30

I picked this up, and was so excited. Test drove it last night. Definitely fuller coverage than Pure Radiant (My HG), and way more matte feeling. I'm completely oily in the Tzone, and dry elsewhere. This seemed to cling a bit to the dry areas, and needed more blending. I was under flourescent lights last night, and I looked old. :-( I did lightly powder with translucent crystal, so that could have contributed. This would definitely be better for me in the summer, but I purchased my winter colour (Terre Neuve).

Going to try it again, with a beauty blender.

They'd better not discontinue Pure Radiant.

This might be going back. We shall see.

They are not discontinuing pure radiant.
Velvet Matte Skin Tint is NOT a tinted moisturizer, we were told at seminar not to sell it this way as it is a foundation.
best applied with fingers (all of Nars foundations should be applied that way) and I have also used mine prepping with an oil, like the Laura Mercier Rose oil or cover FX custom infusion drops.

Also try not to set it with a powder, if you are oily, set only where you get oily, but it has oil control for up to 8 hours so powder on top is overkill.

Also it is really high coverage so use very little when applying.

Things that are being discontinued so far are the paint pot thingies (not set in stone but most likely) and the matte multiples. There's an issue with packaging so while they resolve it they might be gone for some time.

Thank you! I am going to be keeping it. I used it again, and exfoliated/moisturized very well beforehand. I applied with my fingers, and then used a damp beauty blender and just tapped it in, and did take it easier on the powder. I'm happy to hear confirmation that pure radiant is sticking around. I've been using it for years, and couldn't go without.

This is a bit higher maintenance for me, with the application, but the coverage is nice, as well as the staying power. It won't be an every day wear, but definitely something I'll reach for often.

I think priming is key for this product, I used it without my usual the other day and regretted it all day lol!!

The coverage is so nice, I really do love it, I hope you enjoy yours :)

Has this caused anyone to beak out? I have acne and concerned that this isn't labeled as non-comedogenic but the pure radiant is.

They told us at seminar they are going to probably stop labeling it, as there are new standards to call a product that. So it shouldn't clog your pores, but they won't put it on the bottle.

It hasn't broken me out, and I am very sensitive, but so far so good! I've been using it for like a month now. :)

I do not think any company ever should put that as a label. It is ridiculous statement and they can be sued over that. Non comedogenic for one person doesn't mean it won't brake out someone else. You need to know your skin well and what exact ingredients irritate you

I agree completely. There are SO many causes for acne and every body is different. I've seen several people say they have breakouts, and I've also seen reviews of people with acne calling this a HG.

@MaryJane-I posted the ingredients earlier in the thread in case you know what irritates your skin. I say grab a sample from Sephora. They didn't even fill my pot, and I got over a week of use out of my sample.

Yea that's exactly what they said, and that's why they also don't out "waterproof" on any of their liners, one person out of a bunch might have different things happen.

I tried this today and am really like it so far. It definitely has more coverage than the tinted moisturizer. I applied it with my fingers and think I used a little too much. I'm going to try it with a buffing brush to see if that helps with the application.

Yes :/

Would have lived to try it but the ingredients (thanks again) gave me pause.
Le sigh.

I have been loving this lately. I have dry to normal skin and while it takes a bit to blend out so that it doesn't cling to dry patches, I love the full coverage and the finish. I have found that it works best for me if I use a buffing brush to blend it all over my face, and then go over dry areas with a damp beauty blender. I don't powder it at all because it's already quite matte.

tried this out, definitely purchasing. Gorgeous on my older, dry skin! Alaska was perfect for my NC20 complexion.
