Hello,

I am thinking of getting a kit of brushes but do not really know if it is worth it or if I will just use the foundation.

I was looking for a kit for beginners and found this: Beginners Sets – Evaki

As anyone ever bought from here? You think the price good?

Thank you! :)

(Moved to Recommendations.)

Never heard of that site, and if you want a full set of brushes for both face and eyes, none of those sets would be complete, as there are no eye brushes.

If you want to buy brushes for both face and eyes, and you don't want to spend a lot, check out Zoeva or Sigma, or even Real Techniques.

There are different type of brushes - synthetic (organic) and animal made bristles. If you like to shop for cruelty-free products, you might want to look into synthetic bristles. You should look into brushes made by e.l.f., Terre Mere, IBY Beauty, Cailyn Cosmetics and Dome just to name a few. You can find most of these brushes through the sephora, sweet sparkle, ulta, etc.

e.l.f.'s $1 (or they could be $2 now?) brushes are terrible, IMO. If you're going to shop e.l.f. brushes, look at the Studio line. (They have another line which starts at around $5 but I don't have any experience with it, as I don't buy e.l.f. these days.) That said, I don't recommend them much nowadays because I think Real Techniques brushes are generally more versatile as far as synthetics go. e.l.f.'s Studio brushes don't do well with liquids or creams, in my experience, while RT brushes can be used with any product type/texture.

And to add to the synthetic discussion, Sigma went all synthetic a few years ago.

I will second Shellyggrl, Realtechnique is a good place to start, and a sephora kit who usually end up in the sale section. I do not think they are worth it full price but reduce price I think they offer some real value, for some who want to start their kit.
