Changes to Sephora Canada

So Sephora is going to open a Canadian warehouse, in order to expedite shipping. It means that we will get online orders faster, but it also means that we'll be losing some brands and products that aren't in compliance with Canadian packaging laws, or which contain restricted ingredients. There's a list here: http://smartcanucks.ca/sephora-to-start-shipping-orders-from-canada/ I'm completely baffled by the list, because virtually everything on it is available from other Canadian retailers. So either those retailers are breaking the law, or Sephora has made some mistakes. Free expedited shipping for online orders was the principal draw for me to make sure I hit VIB Rouge, so I don't think that this is going to make me spend any more at Sephora.

I think they will just need to change their packaging, I'm sure it is just a matter of time that some come back available.
but I look at my Peter Thomas Roth products at home and none of them have french instructions so even if they are not on that list i'm sure the will be missing for a while too :( so I think some other brands will be add on that list. :(

I was wondering how I got my order so fast! I ordered something on Tuesday and it came today. Usually it takes about a week or more.

Ok hold on. If we're not paying duty/Borderfree costs anymore, are prices on products going down? When is this all happening now? I'm willing to bet the warehouse will be near Pearson, in which case, YASSSS ONE DAY SHIPPING FOR GTA.

Nope. No price changes. I think the transition is the reason that so many products are marked as "only a few left" or are out of stock (like more than half of the UD eye liners as of earlier this week). I did notice that Ardency Inn has been removed from the site, which is too bad and surprising, since it wasn't on the list given in the article. Now I don't know what to think. I did notice that they've added a few brands, like Shu Uemura, although I'm not sure if that's company-wide or Canada-exclusive.

It's funny, because the standard shipping in Canada now says 5-10 days, even though it may be shorter. When they were shipping out of the US, VIB Rouge got free 3-day shipping. Now we just get free standard shipping. So they've essentially downgraded the Canadian customers who spend the most money there. (And gotten rid of one of the major perks to spending enough to get VIB Rouge status, at least for me.)

I noticed a lot of NARS products have gone up in price, since our dollar dropped. The tinted moisturizer is now $54

Going through my "loves" list, and I noticed that a lot of my HG products all of the sudden cannot be shipped to Canada, such as Hourglass mineral primer, and Deva Curl products. UGH.

Also, so many products are now out of stock. Hopefully this will get better.
