Sephora Return Policy?/Bad experience :(

I have purchased some items online that have passed the 60 day return date, but the colors/formulas are all wrong. Could I still return these purchases in store for store credit? I have two MUFE HD foundations that need to go and they weren't cheap.

I literally just called my store and asked if I could return something that was unused that I bought back in June. It was a backup for something that I do in fact love... but dont need a backup of right now. They said since I had the receipt I could return it. I bet i could have them put it on my card but I want to get something anyway... so it doesn't matter to me. :)

Thank you, Stephy. The receipt says they don't accept returns by mail after 90 days which has always made me suspect they would take it in person. If I go to the city in the next month I'm going to bring my invoice and my old Urban Decay concealer that I swatched 1x + some foundations that didn't work. Store credit is fine with me.

Just wanted to report that I was able to return two things (well exchange since I just picked up NARS Light Reflecting Powder instead). I had purchased the items online 6-12 months ago and I actually forgot to bring my invoice with me, but there was zero drama. I'm so mad now that I've pitched other items that I tried one time and didn't match my skin color.

Oh, this is great news. I need to return the Bare Minerals Moisturiser I bought a little over a month ago. I have recently figured out something in it is causing me to break out. It was $28. It's gotta go. I'll gladly take store credit.

i believe a suspicious return is one in which the ingredients are switched out.

yea i am not sure how she will react to getting found but it is in indeed stealing. i guess that is why she buys things on a credit card and returns them empty. it is very sad because the employees are the ones who suffer

Not to be the odd man out, but if it's May and you bought it in October, yeah that's a bit long to wait. It's now outdated and out of season. It's very frustrating from another customer perspective too, if it was a hot item and is no longer available. Someone who actually wanted that could've been happy and purchased it. Rather, it just sat in your makeup caddy for months until you changed your mind.

Yes, the clerk should've been nicer in tone and demeanor, but if I was her, I wouldn't have taken that back either. Maybe because I've worked in retail, and I've seen my fair share of stories and things that make you say, are you for real?

Should returns be accommodated? Absolutely. But under the right provisions, i.e. Wrong color, broke you out, etc. and a reasonable time frame.

You may be right, except that's not sephora's return policy. There is no time frame printed on the receipt or displayed at checkout. While I agree that their return policy is way too lenient, it is what it is. If the company wants customers to return within a certain time frame than it must be articulated clearly during the original transaction. And by the way I have worked in retail as well.
