My vanity area aka "The more space I have...the more stuff I'll get to fill it." :P

At the moment I've got a fairly modest collection (by Specktra standards, anyway) but given the exponential growth rate of my collection since December 2007, it's safe to say I probably shouldn't be looking to expand my storage capacity anytime soon. :p

Anyway, onto (yet another) Malm vanity. Our master bedroom has been done in black/brown Malm furniture and red accents for 2 years, so the fact that the vanity worked for this purpose was a total bonus. Thanks to MissChievous for addressing some lighting questions I had last year when I picked up the table.

New polish storage! (My recent project, of sorts... It's a Billy bookcase from IKEA. I installed a light on the inside and added a glass door. Plus I changed the doorknob accessory just to make it a tad more interesting. I may swap all the inner shelves for glass shelves so my top light shines all the way through but I haven't decided yet. Right now the only thing on my glass shelf are two lonely NfuOhs. FYI...this MUST be mounted to the wall. Safety first!)

Thanks. (Thanks everybody!)

The vanity itself comes from IKEA. You'll find it listed under MALM dressing tables. There's a smaller one out now and it is far more practical in my opinion, as it is better suited for small rooms and comes with a sheet of glass to cover the top (which makes cleaning up makeup mess a whole lot easier!)

Some of the organizers are also from IKEA (e.g. the one the lippies and glosses are in as well as the one for shadesticks/UDPP etc.) The exact set I bought doesn't appear to be on the website but you can check out the other stuff available in the Anordna range. Any of the shorter ones should fit the drawer specifications.

The organizers for the pigments are simple craft storage containers and they can be picked up at Walmart (or something equivalent) for $3CAN.

The palette holder is a standard DVD holder that can be purchased from Solutions (Canada) or The Container Store (US).

The holders for the polishes and the foundation/blushes are inverted 3-tiered acrylic shelf organizers by InterDesign. In the US you can probably find them at The Container Store as well. (In Canada I found them at Solutions for $15 and Kitchen Stuff Plus for $12).

Hope that helps someone!

LOL Thanks.

Unfortunately (I am sorry to say) it is not something I would recommend as a brush holder. It is a handmade Italian glass piece from The Bombay Company that my grandmother bought some time ago. She has a penchant for buying pretty things and when I went to visit her earlier in the year she said... "Take it. That way I can buy something new for the table."

Ordinarily I would NEVER have bought such a thing to store brushes in (though I do love the stuff at that store) but my bedroom is red and black and I figured if it was going to sit on the vanity anyway, it might as well be put to good use.

(I nearly had a heart attack transporting it on the plane though.)

Until I got this my brush holders consisted of several rectangular vases from the dollar store (which I have since planted several small plants into.)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
