No, I don't think so. Super chunky glitter is going to be harder to work with, but you should still be able to build it up.

I did a version of this and it came out really well. I used three Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes (they were $2 - $2.99... Apparently the product numbers don't match to what's on the site now, but all the colors are still available)

Lime Lights (22) - A very translucent seafoam color. I laid this down over a base coat, halfway down the nail twice and then 1/4 from the tip twice.

Marine Scene (23) - A very translucent ocean seafoamy blue. I put this over the tip twice, and at the very very tip once.

Disco Ball (either 09 or 60!)- A multicolored glitter in jelly (reflects blues, greens, yellows and pinks). I painted this in a line across where the Lime Lights fade into the clear nail, and then over the entire tip of the nail.

It looks great! I have two of these SH Extreme polishes that would work for this --- a red jelly and a pink jelly. They both have glitter so I may not need the glitter step.

I will try to get a pic of this! (edit: pics below. Excuse my cuticles and the skin surrounding my nails, this was just a test run for the polish)

Bumped for added pics using cheap Sally Hansen products! See my other post in this thread. It's a couple days later, and I put the Sally Hansen topcoat and it hasn't chipped.
