Does anyone know where I can find a running list of discontinued eye shadows? Like all in one place? I'm trying to catch up on lost time and seeing what I've missed. Thanks!!
if you got to the 1st page you can read the ones that were first in the goodbye section. lipsticks too.

Hi there,
I know I am waaaaaay late to this party. But I don't really keep up the way I used to. I am JUST now discovering all of the products that Mac has discontinued and I have to vent out my emotions! I am DISTRAUGHT people! This took me by total surprise, because I was unaware of it, and at Christmas while visiting family out of town, I went to their mac store (my stupid town doesn't have a store) and was able to purchase the following beloved products:
-Splashproof mascara
-Opulash in Bad Bad Black (the Optimum black runs on me)
-Kid eyeshadow.
-Brown Down eyeshadow.

Now all the sudden, none of these products are on their site (I went to place an order yesterday and literally felt my soul dying a little more inside with each staple item that I learned I could no longer get). After a Google search, I was lead to this thread and just about threw up in my mouth when my fears were confirmed that these colors are gone! While I can kind of understand the mascaras (except, sorry, Splashproof was the BEST waterproof mascara ever. EVER! There is nothing else like it on the market), I am completely baffled and sickened by the idiotic choice to discontinue universally flattering shades like brown down, kid, and bisque, while keeping dated ones such as electric eel and moons reflection. Is it 1982 again suddenly? What moron made these decisions? This is just killing me.

I am just so mad. I am a makeup artist and I've been using mostly mac shadows for years. I know them and am comfortable with them. I like their price points too. Now I am going to have to go out and find dupes for these shades and get used to the formulas/consistency/pigmentation, etc. I will probably end up having to pay more too since most higher end brands cost more than mac.

Ok, rant over. Thanks for listening :)

Absolutely agree with that!! I have been using it for more than four years now, I'm super mad they d/c it. There's nothing like it, it's the only mascara that's really waterproof and also doesn't flake on me. Now I'm back to trying all kinds of drugstore mascaras, trying to find one that is alright. Just bought Maybelline Great Lash, haven't worn it yet.

I use the waterproof stuff for clients only, not on myself. I am going to try the waterproof zoom lash. But I do not have high hopes at all. I can't stand regular zoom lash so I am sure the waterproof will be just as horrid. I also picked up the Loreal carbon black waterproof as well, but haven't tried it yet.

God, every time I think about this I get all pissed off all over again. I am SO mad at Mac. They have just totally turned my whole world upside down and its going to be a total PITA to make right again.

Bastards.

I use the Maybelline Great Lash waterproof on my clients and it works fine. They all use it themselves, so it's pretty good. I don't use waterproof on myself, ever. It's terrible for lashes, so i just use it in my kit, where waterproof mascara is a necessity.

Ok, I have an update. In my fury, I posted a little note to Mac's facebook page, unloading my dissatisfaction with their choices lately. A friend of mine, who works for mac and has moved to NY, FB messaged me to advise that almost all the products I bitched about (kid, brown down, Opulash bad bad black, and splashproof) are being restocked. I guess they ran out for a while or something? Or they realized the error of their ways and brought them all back. the only one they aren't bringing back that I complained about is bisque. Which, if they were going to ax any of them forever, that would be my choice. It was a fave, but I can live without it.

I will remember that about the maybelline waterproof, if I am ever in this predicament again.
