239 brush not picking up color anymore?

I tried searching for a topic like this, but I couldn't find one.
I just bought my 239 brush probably like a month ago and the other day I was using it and noticed that it doesn't pick up as much eye shadow color anymore. The brush just doesn't pick up the shadows on the tips-mid bristles. It's almost as if there's some clear slick on the brush that just prevents it from holding the color, but I know there isn't since I wash my brushes with brush cleaner everyday and rinse them out with water... I've also noticed that it's a bit thinner than new 239 brushes, but I've never noticed it shed before. Has anyone experienced this or do I just have a weird brush? I bought it from the MAC counter so I know it's authentic...

don't rinse your brushes and see if that helps. there's no need to rinse them unless you're deep cleaning them.

Also it could be the shadows,.. do you wipe them off regularly?? The shadows might have a slightly oily top coat to them and make it harder to pick up much product with a soft brush as opposed to something firm like a 242.
