Foiling help!

Foiling is when you use eyeshadow or something wet right?

I've tried to do it with some of my pigments, but it just never works since it just clumps onto the brush and turns into a blob that refuses to budge upon contact.

Any tips?

In stead of placing the brush in water directly, try using a spritzer bottle and lightly spritz the brush before dipping it in the eyeshadow.

You may not be using enough liquid. Try adding for liquid so that you get the consistency of a heavy liquid.

It could be the brush? What brush are you using?

Also when you wet your brush you dont want it too wet but damp. Also after i put the eyeshadow/pigment on the brush i dab it on my hand a little so if any clumps formed i already squashed it out. Also patting on the shadow instead of dragging helps!

That happens to me when I use too much water. I usually just pat my brush with a paper towel first before applying any pigment on it and it works fine.

I agree with ManBeater. It could be the brush.

I personally prefer using a synthetic brush (MAC #242 brush) to foil my pigments.
