the course im currently doing has a new project of 'bags' soo i desperatley need a few bag designers to 'study' and base my final designs on. I preferably need some that are famous for 'something' (like lulu guinness and the rather unnusual bags...) and produce quite a similar style in all their bags any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated

Michael Kors makes a lot of oft-imitated bags (look up his Santorini tote from last spring/summer). I also love Louis Vuitton (the Speedy is a classic shape). Marc Jacobs is famous for chunky metal hardware, big buckles, giant zippers and pushlocks on his bags (the classic Venetia is a good one to look at). Bottega Veneta is famous for woven leather bags. Chanel, for the classic quilted leather purses with chain hardware. Gucci, for the horsebit detail in so many of their handbags (the Horsebit Hobo is a great example). One more notable mention is Hermes with the cult-classic Birkin and Kelly bags.
