I never kill insects (any living creature--even spiders, moths, etc.), but my cats are great at finding them so I can put them outside.
My cats are actually just intrigued by insects so they don't eat them. They might bat at them lightly for a second but they never harm them; it's so sweet! So anytime I see my cats staring intently at one spot, I know there's a bug around and I will capture it and put it outside. My kitties are so helpful that way. I may not kill bugs but that doesn't mean I want them crawling around my apartment or bedroom, ya know?
