i passed on all the eyeshadows (i actually think i may have *enough* eyeshadow actually), but Fast Thrill lipstick ended up coming with me...i always end up buying peachy pink lipsticks over and over again, and i did it again...it is pretty though.

I saw them today and I REALLY love the red vein color in Hot Contrast. I wanted to buy it but realized that Trax is kind of similar to it... It just doesn't have as much red in it as Hot Contrast. But I swatched both side by side and they looked identicle on my hand. I didn't buy anything from the collection other than Vanity Childs lipstick, I liked it. My two favs were Hot Contrast and Polar Opposites. Polar Opposites is the same as my silver fog and hot contrast was the same as trax, IMO. I really liked Sea & Sky... but I think it is too bright blue for me, although it was extremely beautiful.
Oh well...

Maybe I'll change my mind and get something later on.

Posted new swatches and comparison pics in the swatch thread. I am in love with sea and sky. The blue is really unique it has a hint of purple in it and the color payoff is amazing!!

Mac really did it with these MES. The pigment is so soft and full of pigment. The black in hot contrast is super black and has almost a matte sheen to it. The green in fresh green mix is so pretty and is a mix of juxt, chartreuse and lucky green. Can't wait to post a fotd using these! Loves 'em!!

I like it but I just found out I am in need of money and yeah spending 100 bucks yday makes me feel oh so guilty.
I can find something in my collection of shadows that looks just like it.

I have it from last year's Flashtronic collection which featured that brush and the Mineralize Eyeshadows. I don't really like it very much but I suppose it is just personal preference. I like small, precise brushes. I gave the brush to my mother and she just loves it!

See and even my GF who knows jack about cosmetics said today "Isn't that a little big for eyes?" And I know she's probably right but I couldn't resist. Plus, I haven't fully mastered the talent of precise shadowing and tend to do more of an all-over color with brow-highlight. But I am practicing.

Then again, I AM 37 so maybe it's just an old-lady brush

My little black box came in today from MAC

(I also posted swatches on the Electroflash swatch thread & pics on my haul in the hauls thread)
I'm so happy with my purchase. Love Connection is GORGEOUS, hands down. All I did was press two fingers on each color and the payoff was SPECTACTULAR. So shimmery & vibrant, can't wait to try it! Fast Thrill (swatched only on my hand) is gorgeous and I hope it can be duped with another MAC color. Cultureclash is equally awesome and I'm afraid I'll need a couple backups of this.
I'm so pleased with my little haul, but I'm starting to wonder if I should get Hot Contrast & a few other items!

Am I crazy? Where is all the love for Polar Opposites coming from? Maybe I got a bad one. I tried it wet today and it still sucked. It looks so muddy on my eye. Oh well, maybe it is just me!

I love my 227. Especially when I'm in a hurry and just want to do a quick wash of color across my eyes. It is also pretty awesome to use when you want to blend across the crease. You can blend a larger area, however, as Bunny said, it isn't as precise.

sleepyhead I just saw your Hot Contrast MES in the Swatch forum and it's the most beautiful MES I’ve seen, a lot of red veins

To me Sonic Vibe and Culture Clash look kind of like lipglass versions of the Steppin' Out and Baby Sparks dazzleglasses? But then again, I do need a baby pink lipglass...
All the new collections are overwhelming!

Well I could only afford two of these so I got the ones I figured I'd use the most- Hot Contrast and Polar Opposites. I wear black all the time and silver/grey eyeshadows have become quite an addiction for me lately.

Polar Opposites silver mono sure is frosty and bright but it should be really cool for evenings. Hot Contrast is just too cool.
What's annoying is that I have to mix some cream color base with my paint on my lids before applying Polar Opposites to prevent fall-out. Even paint pot alone would not hold this e/s on my lids! So that part sucks. But the silver is such a true silver that I can't bear to part with it.
I didn't get much veining in my Hot Contrast ( I guess I should have checked when the MA gave it to me) but the red veining mixed with the black is so hot.
I'd like to check out Odd Couple again but I really can't get any more this week.

So, I was just looking at the swatch thread and the comparison between Bombshell and Fast Thrill. I agree in the tube they look a lot alike as well as on the skin. But, I just went back and tried Bombshell on the top lip and Fast Thrill on the bottom. There is a noticeable difference, in my opinion. I think that Bombshell is definitely more of a blue based pink. Fast Thrill looks like a pink with a hint of coral in it. Once again, that is on my lips. I love Bombshell and I love Fast Thrill, however, I love them differently. If you adore pinks, as I do, they are both must-haves!

If you just want to try a pink but are not sure if it is your "thing" then I would probably go with Fast Thrill, especially if you gravitate towards the warmer colors, but if you already own bombshell that would probably be enough. Hope that makes sense. Just my 2 cents....

So today I went back in and purchased Love Thrill l/s and Hot Contrast.
I went back initially to check out Green Mix and see what was the deal (did I miss something the first time?)...
Honestly, I couldn't get myself thrilled about it because it wasn't doing anything for me.
Probably because I'm a bigger fan of dark greens over light greens and I have colors similar to this MES.

I'm happy with the veining on my Hot Contrast though. I didn't check till I was in my car to see the split and I was really hoping for less of the black and more of the veins... WOO HOO! Exactly what I got. I'm a happy camper.

As far as application... to my look I did today with Odd Couple and Sea & Sky.. I just used UDPP and packed on the shadow. It worked fine with me and I also did one eye at a time.

I'm going to try out Polar Opposite tomorrow and see how things turn out.

Trax looks pretty similar to it... but not so redish. But I swatched both side by side on my hand and it looked the same on me.
