MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

I am caving towards adding some MES, and the red lippy to my list. My fave MES so far, from swatches, are Hold the Pose and Snow Season.

I am definitely going to have to get How Beautiful. I feel like mentally deficient because I did not notice these were BP and not regular MSF. I will buy both and maybe BU both because I think of all the MAC face products, BP is my favorite. Then again, BU may not be necessary, I have never hit pan on a BP.

After swatches I am loving Howaz liner.

So much depends on stuff not selling out and me being able to go back and purchase after another paycheck!

Anyone else think those palettes with the white packaging look curiously like Clinique products??? Esp. the square e/s in the white palette package. It is like a weird deja vu for me.

Wow I dont come on for a night and this place jumped 5 pages. T's swatches confused me even more. Her swatches look so different from Shades of You. Thats why I hate when I cant see things in RL, you never know which swatches are the truest to the products. I dont have a vehicle till later at night so I cant go to the store on release day, and I'd be too afraid i'd miss something if I go later. I'm really trying to limit myself and its so hard lol esp with so many great collections coming. I DO know I want Lets Skate and For Effect p/p's, Whirls and Twirls & Soft Sable lipsticks, and Shimmermint mes. Everything else I just dont know.

No disrespect to Christine, but I honestly find a lot of her swatches off. I still love and read her blog, but I definitely don't base my purchases on her swatches alone. I usually try to look at at least 3 or 4 different watches before deciding on something.

Very true, I do this too as it allows me to try to get a more accurate representation of the product.

I don't know what to buy from this collection even after seeing loads of swatches. This is the first time this happening to me. Will decide after i get to try them myself.. suspect i will buy a couple of eyeshadows and dazzleglasses and god knows what else..

Everyone's opinions have been super helpful. I think I've settled on Let's Skate PP, Fresh Ice MES and What Joy. I'm really intrigued by the MES but as I've never tried one before so I figured it would be best on the wallet to try out my favorite and see how it goes. Morning Frost looks lovely but I think its a bit shimmery for my taste. Also thinking about She-Zam and Snowglobe but I want to see them in the store before I buy.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but what are the differences b/t a MSF and Beauty Powder? Thanks!

This collection is kind of depressing me because I used to be a figure skater before graduate school took over my life. At least I can still wear pretty make up!

Let me know how the silvery one works for you! I think we have similar skin tone (I'm NC15), I'm intrigued on how it may appear with fair complexions

oh i will do! it will be a couple of weeks until it is released in the uk but you know i'll be posting swatches and fotd's! and yeah we are similar in skin tone - i'm nc20

T's swatches may not look the same as when someone else swatches them, but that doesn't mean T's swatches are "inaccurate" because swatches can look different depending on the swatcher's skin tone, lighting, and application method.

I do read her reviews and enjoy looking at her swatches, but I don't base my final decision on them. I usually check the products out in store and play with them before making my final decision.

Go check it out in the store. You can't really photograph a highlighter product or at least, photographs don't do them justice.

Haha I knew you would back them up! I'm thinking of getting How Beautiful. It looks really nice on Christine's face but just not her swatch but your rave reviews are making me want it.

I think it will look gorgeous on us pale gurrls. I skipped Play it Proper and and Bright Sunshine because of not thinking they were that unique then had to hunt them down. Just sayin'

I am trying not to squeal at work about how cute those tacky little clear handle glitter brushes are in all the swatch pix I am seeing.

i could easily skip this collection but I like collecting mac special packaging lipstick/eyeshadows and since i dont wanna spend 20 bucks on an eyeshadow color i dont care for, i would rather spend 15 on a lipstick.

I am considering either What Joy! or Double Spin. but im not sure. what do you guys think? im scared that double spin will be too light and i wished what joy was a darker berry. so idk which one to pick to add to my collection. Im leaning towards Double Spin though because I want to get the blackened berry color from the Gareth Pugh collection

I think Double spin is more unique, and if it is too light, you can always use it for layering! the sparkles/shimmer will make it unique. there will always be plenty of berry colored lippies...HTH
