MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

You girls make me want to check Hangin' Loose. LOL.
I didn't go check the collection today. For me, it's miracle! Usually, I go back to my counter for more. I'm happy with my small haul, but part of me still want to play with the testers. Bad girl.

tee hee! i like HL, but Zoya (my fay vor eeet polish evaaar, lol!) is coming out with a nude collection. cheaper and they often have promo's so no big deal if you skip HL. I just had a gift card, hee!

I got KK today. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it looked on me. It really is a nice, summery, brownish neutral. It's like a lighter version of R&R Tyrant which I adore. I was also happy that the gloss wasn't as sticky as it has been in times past. I've only backed up 2 things in my makeup career and I'm thinking about backing this one up. It really is a great neutral with a pop. Even though I have gloss coming out of my ears, I still go through it quite fast. Decisions, decisions.

What liners is everyone using with KK? I'm one of those people whose lips feel naked if I don't have liner and gloss.

The only grey I had before now was Scene, so I am definitely thrilled that I did not pass up this new, beautiful, high quality shade. And I didn't have anything like Short Shorts, either. My collection is still small. It's grown a lot in the last year, but not to the point where I have ten of each kind of color. Yet!

I can't speak for Surf USA, but Swell Baby is just as smooth and soft as Short Shorts. When I swatched Sun Blonde, it seemed pretty smooth too. Not the right shade for me, but smooth.

I had Hibiscus on my lips but it had already faded by the time I took these pics, which is why I'm only showing my eyes.

I wore Short Shorts and Swell Baby together today and I LOVE them! This is going to be my new favorite look for awhile. So gorgeous.

I posted a few pages back that I tried that combo and I agree that its stunning. My new favorite combo too. I also put a little Juxt in it to pull a little green. Beautiful!! (for reference I'm NC20, blonde, blue eyes)

Sun Blonde on lids, Saffron in crease, and Surf USA on the bottom lash line seems to be a popular look today. XD I think I'll wear my Surf the Ocean stack tomorrow.

I'm NW15, brunette, hazel eyes. That sounds pretty. I wish greens worked a little better on me, but maybe I'll try just a little bit and see how it goes.

i just wore sun blonde and saffron today and everyone complimented me on it. funny cause i used to wear chrome yellow with coppering a few yrs back, and these reminded me of it, but just not so loud..anyhoo, still hoping i can get a hibiscus in the near future..mine is still saying backordered on the mac website..=(

Same! It's like my nails but better. It just makes my nails look shiny and perfect. I could see this quickly becoming my HG nail polish.

I'm really glad I gave Sun Blonde a chance. It is so smooth and I think it will go with lots of colors. When I got home I tried it with Flourishing e/s and it looked good and pulled green. I can see it looking god with a lot of my greens as well as others.

I also love Hibiscus on its own as well as toned down with Bubbles.

Sushi~flower, I tried out magenta liner with bust out today as a matter of fact! It's so pretty together!


I got my Macys haul today! Which included, bust out, saffron, surf usa, swell baby and sun blonde. It was also "supposed" to have surf the ocean, but instead I got summer stack. Sigh..... It even says STO on my invoice. I guess I have to email them...? And don't even get me started on how I received the bubble mailer of doom that macys really seems to believe in using. AND how my mail carrier tried to STICK IT THROUGH MY MAIL SLOT ON MY DOOR! Ughhhhh..... It was a whole process trying to pull it out gently from the other side. =-o


Anyways.... I did get my stuff safe and sound (thank god! **shakes fist at macys**)! And I love it all! Here is a look I did today for your viewing pleasure =)






I used surf usa, swell baby, fig 1, and fresh daisy. I took these pics at the end of our day, so the rest of my face was not so fresh anymore. haha. I am going to try and re-create this tomorrow a little better I wasn't pleased completely, especially with my liner

Oh my goodness you guys! We had date night last night so I decided to get a little fancy.

On my lid I did Shroom all over, up to browbone (it's perfect highlight for me), then Swell Baby in the crease.
Then I used Saffron in the outer corners and to deepen the crease a TINY bit, and then on my lower lashline.
It was a gorgeous, sculpted look. Looked great with some winged liner and mascara.

I finally broke down and wore My Paradise. I had been sitting looking at it, wondering why it was so much harder to bust into that one than it was Marine Life.
But I grabbed my 187 and it applied beautifully. It was a beautiful shade of red coral that just made my cheeks look naturally flushed and healthy.

Then it was Hibiscus on the lips and a pretty dress! I looked like a pin-up girl!

So, SO happy with this collection.
