Or should I get another one of MAC foundations..?

This foundation will definitely work for you. I have oily acne prone skin and it works for me. Just make sure you set it with a powder that contains oil controlling properties like silica.

I tried the concealer again today and the shade was better with it over Soft Ochre paint. However, I noticed that I can't put 2 layers because it looks cakey and uneven when I try to blend it, with or without the paint. Also, I blend it right away because if I try to touch it again after about 30 seconds, it can't blend anymore and it look cakey.

It really need a powder to fix it because it doesn't stay well under my eyes.

So it's not perfect for the dark circles under my eyes, but I like it for redness or pimples.

Oh well, I guess I'll still need to mix my foundation with Chartreuse pigment to obtain an olive shade. I will try a sample though, not sure if it can be better than my HG (Studio Fix Fluid).

Seriously, i don't think it's a matter of it running lighter or darker, i do think the undertones are so mixed up that, for some shades, it gives the impression that it is lighter or darker...
Everybody should get matched if possible... For those who are ordering online, try to ask people to swatch some shades...

This is day 2 of wearing the foundation and concealer. I'm still liking the concealer under the eyes. I don't think I'll be purchasing the foundation. I've noticed a few pimples and while I have acne it is under control so I'm sure it's the makeup that's causing it.

I think this is a good foundation if your skin can tolerate it. If you're prone to breakouts or have oily skin, I would pass on this.

I really want to try the foundation but I need to get color matched for this foundation becaue I'm not sure what shade would be best for my skintone.

I've been playing with this foundation and I really like the creaminess and the consistency. If it holds up under strong digital beauty photography, I'm sold!

Sigh, so the consensus is that oily skin is a no-go?
What if you used something to control it (clinique pore minimizer or something). I'd really like to try it, but I'm pretty oily.

I need some recs please... I went to the MAC counter to try this foundation and the MA asked me what my usual MAC shade is. I said I didn't have one, I never used MAC foundations before. She asked me about my skin, I answered her questions, and she said she didn't think I should start out with this foundation. She said this was mostly for dry skin and mine is normal. She said I could try it, but recommended I try something else.

She gave me NC20 (my face has yellow undertones) in Mineralize Satinfinish, and my skin looked gorgeous. It was a perfect color match. I didn't really love the way it felt (I can't put my finger on why, I think it was because it felt like I had a lot of makeup one even though it looked like I didn't)... but anyway, I knew I'd get used to it.

I still want to try the Studio Sculpt foundation though. Are NC-20's going with NC-20 in this, or are you using a shade lighter/darker? I know I should get matched for it, and I probably will... I'm just looking for recs now.

Oh, another thing. I love the look of the satinfinish but my face already feels (and looks a little bit) like it's going to break out, and I NEVER break out. Does this mean all MAC foundations will be bad for me, and break me out?

Any help is appreciated, I think I'm going to start a thread with this post too..

I have gotten many compliments on my glowy skin since using this foundation!

I love the way SFF looks on me as well. But this does take the cupcake!

I never saw you but I would tend to recommend NC15.. again this one is kinda strange and getting matched with a good MA is better.

I didn't break out.. but you have to try it, I'm NC 20 in SF and I need NC15 with SSF, I had to change to the 20 in concealer tho, cause they are lighter then the foundation.
Good things I got samples..

An other tip too: this foundation is gel, so it adsorb into the skin. Once you apply it, and blend it and all, let it set for a little while. Once it's sets it looks flawless.

One other thing; I had the 190 and didn't like how it works with that foundation, streaking.. I thought 191 was pretty much the same thing but square, it's not! not at all, the bristles are way smaller and softer, it really does a difference with that foundation, I love it. And it's a Japan brush, (for those who think it makes a difference, like me

) oh and 195 is really good too, even if not from Japan

I'm the same shade as you. YES def get lighter I tried the NC 25 it looked alright a teeny tiny bit darker than my usual foundation (nothing too noticable) but as the day wore on it did get darker. So bought the NC 20 and it's a lot better (it still darkens after you apply though).HTH

I'm super oily on my t-zone and i love this foundation!!!! get a sample and try it i wear Mac matte getl or Boot no7 primer from target under and i have'r had any prbls with oxizing like SFF so if i do get a little oily still look ok, i just suggest use a blotting paper b4 touching up with any kind of powder to avoid getting cakey

I would take the MA's advice and try something else. From the marketing I've seen, this does seem to be more for dry skin. I have oliy/acne prone skin and I can tell you this isn't for me. If you still want to try it, get a sample first.
