I was talking to a highly in demand (we're talking booked months in advance) esthetician about makeup and skincare and I mentioned something about mineral oil and she said, "Do you know that it doesn't clog your pores?" She then gave me a list of all the ingredients in skincare and makeup that can clog pores. Ladies and gentlemen, you might want to start throwing out some of your stuff...
Here are the ingredients and also the degree to which it's likely to clog your pores (out of 5, 5 being the worst). And you might be SHOCKED to know that some of these ingredients are in products for people with acne! My esthetician knew chemists who worked for B. Kamins and many other skincare lines. They would formulate a great product only to have it changed by someone who didn't realize they were adding comedogenic ingredients. Some people, of course, don't get breakouts easily and might be able to use something that has one product that's a 3/5, but if you're more sensitive, I wouldn't.
