Cobalt Blue shimmer is very close to the formulation of the NEW blue pigment from MAC, but the color is like a combination of MAC's blue pigment and MAC's Blueboy Paint.

Cobalt Blue shimmer is a deeper finer color than MAC's blue and it does not have the cohesive shimmer that the older MAC formulations have. In other words, it does not have that solid metallic look unless you put it over a base first.

Over Blueboy paint, this pigment is absolutely stunning. (blueboy is one of the rare MAC paints that I will go through the effort to use as I have to apply a ton of base so I do not react to it).

The advantage to this pigment is that you can use it sheer or packed on and you can use it wet or dry. If you are not into brilliant intensity, then this would be a way for you to use this color, but wash it out a bit.

HEre is a photo of this color on skin color as a base to give you an idea- it can be sheered out a lot...

If you want to check out these pigments, they are about $2 each for a 10g jar (MAC wants $18.50 for a 7.5g jar) and the quality is as good as MAC in most of the colors.

Some of the colors that I am reviewing are not on the site yet, it is supposed to be revamped soon. You can talk with the sweetscents lady via phone or email (it is on the site) and tell her that you read my review of the color (she knows me by now since I ask endless questions- I am the artist capri) and that way she will not wonder how you knew about the color.

She will also help you find colors you might like if you tell her what you like or are looking for. That is how I found so many awesome colors. She is a pigment addicts DREAM!
