Two heads are better than one!!!

I need to implement a system like you have, Medgal. First I need to get rid of all of the excess stuff I've held on too - mostly for sentimental reasons but never gets used. It's inhibiting my ability to fully organize and enjoy my makeup collection. I'm working on it though! Baby Steps!

Well that's great---a little bit at a time. You'll find putting your makeup on is fun when you can do it unencumbered.

I do most of my shopping online. If I can avoid having to deal with other shoppers, I will. Sometimes, it's enjoyable, when you're around someone who know what they're doing, but most don't have a clue how to respectfully share a public space and it drives me crazy1

I can't remember the last time I went out shopping for Black Friday or Christmas. I try to avoid doing so at all costs!

I think things ar compounded during the holidays because you're dealing w/seasonal employees who tend not to know what's going in. It has been my tradition for several years now to stay home on Black Friday----I use the day to decorate for Hanukkah for & Christmas because we observe both.

Yes, yes! I'm a people avoider in general though. I've started forcing myself to try to build relationships with SAs, both because it helps me secure products, and because I'm trying to transition to the makeup artist world career wise in the next year or so. It's a good thing there aren't drive through department stores, I'd totally use them. I feel much safer in my car. "That'll be one chanel jersey blush, and a tom ford corrector pen in light please."

I laugh but someday the drive through approach might somehow catch on!!

I believe that I read somewhere that Charlotte Tilbury was the preferred makeup artist for many of Tom Ford's fashion shows -- and that "that" is why her collection so closely resembles TF's...now as to which was the copycat, I'm not sure!
I had heard that. Pretty interesting!!!

I enjoy the lipsticks I have from CT, but don't find them earth shattering. The corrector pen is meh, I love the blushes and lip liner, films tar bronze and glow, and the rebel eyeshadow palette. That one seems fairly original color wise. I also have the dolce vita palette, and I like that fine. I think you are right that you have to be careful because a lot of the palettes are very similar to tom ford ones. I like the Audrey pencil, it gives a nice soft look, but I could take or leave the shadow pencil.
I have one lipstick, Hepburn Honey, a nude that I enjoy, but it's not an HG nude lipstick for me. I also have the eyeliner pen Feline Flick which is nice and the Film Star
Bronze & Glow, Face Sculpt & Highlight which happens to be really very good. That's the extent of the things that were interesting to me and/or that I needed or wanted
I'm on overload w/blush and E/S Palettes so I never really looked at them w/the intent to purchase.

Drives me crazy too, I try to limit my in store time to as little as possible. I do like the MAC counter in the Dillard's I usually go to though, the SAs are really lovely and have made all my experiences there good ones. I have never in my life set foot in a store on Black Friday, I go out of my way to get anything I may need beforehand just so I don't have anything that could pop up and require me to go to a store on that day. I even try to get any type of in store shopping out of the way at least a week before Christmas so that I can avoid going anywhere near those crowds, it drives me insane I tell ya! I hope that one day I can get my groceries delivered so that I never have to do that again too because I HATE grocery shopping!

I know right!!!! But here's what----I take such care in putting this face together that it's a very rare occasion that I want to wash it off to play in new makeup. I am organized to a fault! I catalog and label my items and they are stored, but easily accessible. It all starts when I place an order----I then enter the item on my catalog in blue text. When the item arrives I change the text to black, label the blush or whatever and it goes into my blush drawer in alphabetical order. My thing is, if I can't get to it or if it's cumbersome to get to, I'm not using it---and I buy my makeup to use!!! My products are stored by category, and as I said, alphabetically except for my lipstick. I store my lipstick by color. My makeup drawers are situated in the order in which I apply my makeup.

I hate restricting myself to seasonal 'rules & restrictions' but I am for example more inclined to wear my dark vampy shades during cooler months. Nevertheless, I keep
it all accessible in spite of the season. I have culled some of my lipsticks and other products, and so far haven't regretted items that went by the wayside. I replace
them with something more amazing and convince myself that to have new, sometimes I have to release some of the old----but never anything about which I'm super
passionate.
I need to get a system like yours down, Meddy! Jeepers!

OMG my package was delivered! I emailed and left a message at the PO and nobody responded. And the tracking was never updated after yesterday morning so I was thinking the worst. But it JUST showed up in my mailbox. And ladies I was getting N-E-R-V-O-U-S because FT is sold out already so I knew I couldn't replace that if it was lost!! Whew! Probably was put on the wrong truck or somebody just forgot about it yesterday. I googled and apparently if it gets to the post office too late in the morning, they'll sometimes scan it and it'll say "out for delivery" even though it's not going to be delivered until the next day. Why they can't just scan it and say item received rather than OFD I don't know.

Here are my beauties! First Time, Black Dahlia, Platinum (left) and Spice (right). And Pussycat should arrive (barring any more "incidents") tomorrow or Saturday I think. I'm really curious to try these cream shadows. I've heard mixed things about them. Platinum is really gorgeous in the pot. I'll swatch these when the light is better. It's so dark and overcast today and my phone camera is not dealing well.
