Hello everyone!!!

I am completely new to this. Bare with me as I hope I am doing this right. I have recently applied to Sephora in Canada. I was searching online for tips to be prepared and the web kept bringing me to this site. So I thought id join and hope some of you have some answers for me.

I had my first interview at Sephora Yesterday (Friday 30th) about two hours later I got a call to come in for my SECOND interview!! I am very excited due to the fact that I bombed it due to being a bit nervous.. I guess that's not the case. I have about 6 years experience in retail along with experience with make-up but I have never undergone training for cosmetics.

Can you ladies please help me to prepare for my second interview. What kind of questions will they ask??

Thanks in advance! :)

So how did your interview go?

I will tell you.... they're pretty full of it, these employers, but hopefully you had better luck with them than me.

I had I guess two interviews with Sephora, but they are totally jerking me around and I'm quite peeved about it. I applied at about four locations in my city for the seasonal position. I mentioned an employee's name I spoke to when I filled out my application online and surprisingly enough, received a call from them I think a week later? I set up an interview with them and was interviewed by two ladies. I thought the interview when relatively well and they told me they would contact me the next week. I didn't hear anything so I called back myself one day, the manager was away for lunch and one of the staff members claimed she'd have the manager call me back that day. She didn't. I call back I think a day later, she says "Oh yeah, we should call you sometime this week." I heard nothing. So I figured, whatever... I didn't get the job. I really hate when employers flake out like this. Just be honest and tell me you went with another applicant, you know?

So I would say two weeks later, I receive a call from someone at Sephora telling me that the location I had applied for had their positions filled so they forwarded my resume to another location. I thought 'OMGz1! They're still interested in me!" Then I received a call from a manager from that location and yes I expressed such joy and excitement when I did. We set up my interview the next day with the co-manager, I have said interview and I personally thought it went extraordinarily well. She tells me my skills from my previous experiences would work well and essentially gave me the impression I got the job. She says "Anymore questions?" I'm like when can I start? :D!! She tells me they have to set up training with the seasonals and that I should hear back from the main manager on Friday. Friday comes around.... I wait, and wait, and wait, so I call myself. I speak with the manager she tells me they're busy and they'll call me back later. I heard nothing. ....Why? And it's just a seasonal position. I don't understand why places will make a big fuss over a seasonal job. That's no guarantee that they'll keep you.

I just don't understand why these places like to play with your emotions like this. Not cool, just saying.

Rant over.

Did you get the job? lol :)
