I can see how the color itself might not seem that unique but I think a lot of us who love it do because of the formula. It is very pigmented and applies easily for being a matte. And it is a creamy matte to boot but one done right. Not an overly sloppy patchy mess that looks like a bad satin (not that satins are bad, but as we know, some of MAC's previous "creamy" mattes have been a hot mess). I personally really do love the color of Kinky. Maybe it just goes well with my skintone. It is just really vivid without being too bright. So pretty.
I am so glad you did get it though. And glad that it will still get some love. Like Vandy said, the color might really grow on you!

I know why everyone loves it,it has a great formula and the colour is lovely, it's why I like and am keeping it. I just don't find it to be so much of a difference between Kinky and say Glam to make me feel like I went out and purchased something I didn't already have 4 or 5 of. I understand. It is all MAC's fault. They need to add variety to their shades of red! More deep reds, MORE DEEP REDS!!

No, I don't own that one but I do own UD's Shame. It's pretty dark.
And we need to clarify, more deep reds does NOT mean more repromotes of SIN, MAC!! :lol:

I can appreciate that sentiment. While I do love Kinky and Stunner, they were very similar to each other not to mention to other previous LE collections. This seems to be Mac's MO lately. Mac has been a little off of its game in 2014. Many of the collections/lipsticks were very similar to other shades released a few months earlier. Mac had very few unique colors this year.

I like Mia Wallace. I was not in love with it. It tends to pull more orange on me. It looked nothing like the promo ads. I was a bit disappointed. I loved the lip liner. That's probably because it gave me more of the matte look I was hoping for.
