Dior Cosmetics Discussion

Am I seriously the only person ticked off that Dior has made Addict glosses plumping?

Remembering why I cut back on posting.... I always end up talking to myself.

I didn't knew that! It's a bummer because their glosses were one of the best in the market. Why ruin a good thing? :(

I took those words as rubbish marketing, but if you say they're plumping then I'm not happy about that either.

Ooooh, I'm glad I saw this. I almost pulled the trigger on three out of curiosity.

& I feel you, all the forums have been a great deal slower since the platform switch. I post less because I used to be a primarily mobile poster and it's utterly impossible on the mobile version now. So many adds and pop-ups and such.

When you look at the new setups (my Nordstrom had already changed out the entire set), they're all listed as Plumping. The SA was pushing me to try them and it took telling her that the last "minimal" plumper I tried caused my lips to crack and bleed to convince her I was not going to be interested.

Apparently we're stuck with only the glosses that look like Chanel Glossimers if you don't want plumping. Blah.

According to the SA, they reformulated to make them plumping- but they're allegedly mild.

Doesn't matter much if your lips are very sensitive!

Don't do it, Lauren! Wait till you can check them out in person. I literally asked the SA about four different ways if she was sure that they'd make them all plumping- and they did.

The kicker? They were told in training that "everyone will be SOO excited that they're plumping!"

No, Dior, not everyone. You ruined one of the best products on the market.

Yeah, I get so frustrated with how slow the forums are- and how often info is completely skipped over these days.

i can't use the plumping lip glosses because they cause allergic reactions for me, I guess Dior is out for me. Thanks for sharing as I didn't know they had changed.

I don't mind "mildly" plumping glosses. Two of my favorite glosses are from Buxom. But you're right! I definitely should wait and try these out first. I ended up going for the new EL bronze goddess palette thing-- comes with a highlighter, blush, and bronzer. I ordered it off nordstrom so I can easily return if I don't like it. Instagram is the devil for making me impulse buy, lol!

What they say... well, its always interesting. Ive had too many weird reactions to makeup to believe what they say. Ill try these even with sensitive lips. Im assuming theyll feel like the Minimizer.

By the way, a review. It says here that what gives that effect is hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid isnt a problem, it actually helps sensitive skin a lot. Also, the plumping effect is described below.
http://www.paulaschoice.com/expert-advice/anti-aging/_/hyaluronic-acid-benefits-for-skin

As I said though, what they say is mostly marketing... If its just HA then its alright. If its HA and something else, its not alright. Ill try first, then make my judgement. If you bleed like that then you should wait for other reviews. I have sensitive skin, but not that bad fortunetly.

I usually dislike plumping glosses. They usually make my lips peel and dry. Not a good look. If the plumping effect is HA then maybe it'll be alright. It's a shame they changed them, I really liked their glosses. They lasted a decent amount of time on my lips, no weird taste or smell and they weren't tacky or sticky. Always happens to products I like.

Has anyone tried the Dior Forever foundation and the Forever and ever wear primer? I received samples I the mail and I think it's the best color match I've ever had in a foundation. I don't think I get 16 hours of wear, but that's OK. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that it's seems sooooo matte at first. I don't know if it's the cold dry air and my skin now or if it's the way I'm applying it. I'm using fingers now because my sample is so small I don't want a brush or beauty blender to suck it all up. Anyway, does anyone have experience with this foundation?

In my grouchiness about the glosses, I forgot to mention that I got to see the 3 polishes that came with the collection- and left with Cruise, a very girly pink that is reminiscent of Princess.

Oooooooh. The Summer Glow? That looks very pretty! Now if summer could just get here! Heck I'd be happy with spring! We got another snowstorm this morning.

The glosses have hyularonic spheres in apparently, I bought one and have to say there is no plumping sensation what so ever. I have seriously sensitive skin and I find that these are just the old addict glosses but with less stick and a higher shine and they make your lips look plumper but that's it- no feeling! :)

also, with the primer I love it, makes my foundation last hours longer- sorry if this is the wrong thread for that!

Also, the three lipstick shades that came out with the glosses are limited edition (or they're listed as that in the UK) x
