Disabled Reputation ?

Since I've been a member of Specktra, I've noticed occasionally that some memebers have that a little black chip in their avatars (instead of a colored one)...and it says "so-and-so has a disabled reputation". What does that mean exactly, and what are the actions that get a reputation "disabled"? I've been wondering this for a while, and if anyone could give me a good answer, I'd really appreciate it.

BTW, I just wanted to add that I think Specktra is a wonderful place to come (I come right here after work to unwind and forget about all those old, cranky or just plain nasty people I have to care for at work...

). Thank you SO much, Janice; and all the other gals whom work so hard every day to give us all such a wonderful, informative site. There really is such a good community of people here, and I'm so glad I found this place! Thanks!

some members would rather not have that so you can disable the option in your user cp. lemme know if that explained it for you

Members do have the option not to use the reputation system, you can disable or enable it in your userCP. There are a couple of threads about this though some of the links in them might not work anymore. They should still answer any Q you might have about the feature.
