Need help with MAC Matte lipsticks

I have Wild 'Bout You and love the color but the texture really stinks. Even when I apply Chapstick first, the color tends to drag and over time it cakes unevenly on my lips. Not pretty. I've even applied Chapstick after the lipstick and it still happens. My lips aren't chapped or super-dry normally. Anybody have a suggestion?

Have you tried using a lipbrush? It takes longer but it helps stop the dragging look

try prep and prime lip or some liner first, then go over it with the l/s...try blotting it a little, and then liner again

exfoliating the lips a little with a soft toothbrush helps

try adding a gloss on top of it
