Questions about buddy/friend lists

Im really sorry if this has already been posted in this forum, but I cannot find an answer to this anywhere and I have done numerous searches on this. I would like some clarification on how the buddy/friend system works on Specktra. I have added people to my buddy list, but how can I add someone as a friend? Do I get the option to add someone as a friend after I posted the required posts to gain full access to the site?

Also, I notice on some members profiles, they have people listed under their buddy list and then in the next column over, it says "Jane Doe is a buddy of" and it has a different number of people and different members listed between the 2. I'm just wondering why this is.

Hopefully I am going to explain this correctly.

On your personal profile page the buddy list are people that you have added as a buddy and the "buddy of" are people that have added you.

When another member adds you as a buddy and you have added them as a buddy you will show on each others profiles as "friends".
