Smokey Eye

I have several weddings to attend in the next couple months and want to try a new look. I have experimented quite a bit with color, but never done what I would call a real smokey eye. Any must have products to create this look? I have been searching the internet, but have not really found what I was looking for. I really want to know what your must haves are for creating your version of a smokey eye.

1) Brushes! (IMO, the most important thing.) Smokey eyes need lots of blending, so I think having multiple blending brushes to hand will be key. 2) Eyeliner -- be it pencil or gel. 3) Mascara. optional 4) False lashes, if you want to give it some extra kick.
