I'm trying to work out how I'd achieve the gold on her lips?

I guess you need a really pigmented gold eyeshadow (or pigment). I recommend for example MAC Eyeshadow in the shade Amber Lights (it is really beautiful) and dab it on your cupid bow with a small, dense brush .

I would use a loose pigment, doesn't have to be MAC; any other other brand should work as well.
