Does anyone have any experience using the water activated colors from Ben Nye, Mehron, etc.? I'm looking for advice on how best to use/apply them. Also with their cream colors, how to use/apply.

I've bought several, but I think a couple are greasepaints and I'm not sure how to make them stay put. Seems like setting them wtih powder still doesn't make them stay.

Hi there-
the only water activated colors I have used are from Kryolan, but I think the application is the same for all (in my experience). I use a synthetic flat brush so it doesn't stain, and run it for once under water or spray it twice with fix+ or just plain water in a spray bottle. then i just mix it in the aquacolor for a while until I see some is on the brush and that's it.

If you don't have the right pigmentation you want and already have some on, wait for the original application to dry and go over that so it doesn't clump (I don't know how it's done this but the first time for me was disaster).
