Things to do?

I'm on summer vacation now, and my boyfriend [of almost 2 years] & I feel like we've wasted the first three weeks of it. We still have two + months left, and next week he's able to drive me places. What would be fun couple things to do? The only things I can think of are shopping, movies, and a picnic.

Also, I really want to do something special for him. I've been through alot these past few months & he's always been there for me. So I want to thank him in some way. Any ideas?

Thanks ladies! :]

I LOVE having picnics with my man! He works 2 jobs so sometimes it's darn near impossible to see him

But once a week, I will meet him at the lake after he gets home from his 1st job and we will have a nice picnic in the shade! It's very relaxing!
Another fun thing I love to do with him is go bowling, LOL! I realize it's not for everyone, but it's fun, especially if you can drink & bowl at the same time

And as far as doing something special for him, does your man like cards/letters? I'm actually lucky to have a boyfriend that doesn't mind my sappy letters and actually will give me one every so often. Maybe if you wrote him a card/letter and let him know how much he means to you, that would make his day!

We're hopefully having a picnic on Sunday with my best friend & her bf if the rain stops! It should be fun! :]

Bowling & the cards/letter things sound cute, too. Thank you! :]

Where in Texas are you? I've visited most of the major cities so I might be able to give you some ideas.

How about a sporting event? Baseball game?
Going for a walk around a lake, a beach (if youre near the coast), going fishing, making a puzzle, board games, museums, zoo, swimming, watch a porn and get drunk on Boone's Farm?

Are there any nice nature areas near where you live? Why not go camping and do some hiking or something? Camping is cheap and so much fun...especially campfires and sleeping in a tent, hehe.

If there's any rivers where you live you could also go river rafting!

If there's a lake, you can swim, fish, go canoeing, kayaking, boating, innertubing...

Maybe there's a nearby city you've always wanted to go see but didn't have the time? You can do a mini road trip.

Have fun!

My bf & I are pretty poor (well, I'm poor & he has bad $ skills) so we do cheap stuff all the time...
We've been having picnics on the beach a lot lately, and for some reason seeing a lot of movies. When we're super poor, we'll go into the city & just walk around-window shopping & stuff & then we'll grab lunch at a cheap deli or something.

Another place to look for things to do would be your local news...they usually have some sort of event calendar that lists faires & things to do in your community....even if it's not something you're into, just being out & keeping it lighthearted can make even the worst old lady craft fair seem fun.

I second the card thing. When I was teaching (elementary art) last year I was making V-Day cards w/ my kids & since I had no $, I made him a new card every in class (complete w/ lace hearts, crayons, paper cut-outs & googly eyes) & gave him them all when I got home.

Nearly anything can be turned into a 'couples thing' to do!

Anything from going out for some fine dining to something as simple as going for a jog together! Scenic walks, beach outings with a few of your favourite munchies, picnics, grabbing some gelato on a hot summer's day, hiking, camping, making dinner together and renting a movie, rollerblading (or any activity the both of you enjoy/or would like to try -- taking up dance lessons, boating, kayaking, golf/pitch & putt,...), events that take place within your community (sporting events, festivals, fairs, concerts, etc..), daytrips to a neighbouring city... the list is endless
