traincase on the plane

I wonder how to go on a plane with a traincase, because we all know that the personal bagage should not weigh over 5kg. I need my traincase for my work, also notebook and of course personal bag. Do you think they will understand on the counter? I travel between european countries.
Do you have any suggestions or experiences?

you should call the air port and ask them about their carry on policy.
thats what i have to do but i only travel between states not countrys so you might want to call the airport your leaving home from and then the airport your comming home from beacuse if their in a different country they might have some different policys.
