To start off I have to say that I have pretty icky looking feet that can be rough, dry, with terrible looking nails and cuticles. I'm not very athletic and don't do much exercising besides walking around but my feet look as if I run like 10 miles a day for some reason. It's been that way ever since I could remember. I just have ugly feet lol.
So naturally I have gotten pedicures especially in the summer time to help make them look better. The first salon (Perfect Nails) I went to was a very small and not so glamorous nail salon. But I loved the serviced I received when I had gotten a manicured and pedicure there for their mani/pedi $30 special. They feet looked and felt great afterward and the technicians were very personal and talkative with me. But for the last 2 pedicures I have went to 2 different shops instead of the first because it's always closed whenever I have a chance to get out there. And I don't feel like making another trip out there the next day or another day to get my nails done so I just went to the next closest salon.
The one I went to first was in the mall and was a much more classy upper scale salon. My technician was nice, but wasn't very gentle with my feet and I felt that my feet didn't feel as nice as they had at Perfect Nails. Plus I paid much more for JUST a pedicure too. Now the second one I went to (Sassy's) which is also in the mall charged me $60 for a pedicure and manicure with french tips. Which is twice as much as I paid at Perfect Nails. So I was expecting really excellent service and time when I was there. Which wasn't so! It was VERY rushed and my feet still look super rough. The technician completely rushed through everything with me. I was looking around at the other customers and they were being pampered and the technicians who were servicing them were taking their times. I bit my lip and didn't say anything cause as long as my feet came out looking nice that was all that really mattered. Which didn't happen. My manicure was IMO below mediocre, even I could of done a better job seriously. The nails weren't filed nicely, the edges of many of them are very jagged and rough. The french tips look very sloppy on the sides. They've already started to chip. The weird thing was that I didn't notice how crappy everything looked until I got home and into a different lighting and could touch the bottom of my feet. By that time the mall was already closed. I ended up painting over my fingernails anyways trying to make my french manicure look less "cheap" cause all he did was apply the white tips and then this slightly reddish/pinkish polish over it that ended up looking clear. This was when he had reassured me that they'd show up a light creamy pink that was very natural and professional.
I am just VERY unhappy right now with all of this. I had talked to my co-workers who had seen my mani/pedi and they agreed that it was poor service that I had gotten. One of them told me that I should call them up and complain about what a crappy job they did. I want to but I don't want to be a straight bitch. I hate complaining but I paid $60 for this, the least they could of done was take their time and do everything properly. Now, I don't have super high unrealistic expectations but if anyone could see how my nails and feet look in real life they'd agree that it doesn't look nice at all. I don't know how to approach them about this cause I don't want them to redo my nails and feet again. I just want my money back, at least for the pedicure. Anyone have any advice on how to approach them about this nicely? And if they refuse to give me a refund could I possibly contact my credit company (I used a Visa to pay for this) and do a dispute??
