Chanel Skincare

Well I did not see a thread devoted to skincare so figured I'd start one. I think we've talked about various skincare items here and there in other threads. Anyway, in the never-ending search for a sunscreen my skin can tolerate (I generally just avoid the sun and wear a hat) I noticed that Chanel had expanded their line. They now offer UV Essentiel in SPF 20, 30 and 50, each with slightly different formulas. I'm considering giving the SPF 50 another try. While it still contains alcohol, which is often a problem for my skin, they've removed alot of the other things that usually give me trouble. Here's a great review on all 3 in case anyone else is interested:

I still wish they had an all-physical one though.

I never tried those but I know a new skincare range will be launched this year, I have no further information. I love Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum and the body cream, so delicate. I've also tried Sublimage sérum but it's very pricey ( around 300 € I think ). I have the nail polish remover which is so soft, I use Lancôme or Dior cleansing milk for sensitive skin but not Chanel.

I received a box from Chanel with complimentary samples of the new skincare line in the mail yesterday. With the samples was a note that reservations/preorders for this collection will be taken starting 5/15. I am not at home at the moment, but when I get home later today I will post more info. Last night I just glanced at it and put it on my vanity.

If you normally get goodies from Chanel like bookmarks and the infamous snow globe, then you should probably get these samples as well.

The new skincare line comprises of three different lotions. Le Nuit de Chanel, Le Jour de Chanel, and Le Weekend de Chanel. Nordstroms & Chanel.com have exclusivity of it first, then it will be rolled out to other retailers. The Ultra Correct Lift & Line Repair moisturizers will also be replaced later this year with "Le Lift". It will follow the sublimage scheme of offering different textures rather than 'day' and 'night' specific versions. I love UV Essentiel. Use it everyday. It's great because it's VERY lightweight and doesn't feel like you have it on. It also can even out redness. It includes vitamin e & licorice root extract so it helps a little with environmental protection. Your local Chanel counter should have sample packettes of the new formula. Just ask.

I thought it was for Asia ( Jour, Nuit, Weekend ) ! Maybe this line is for Europe too, I do hope so !
Great !

A Sales Associate also told me that there will be new skincare products soon. My counters got an expanded Sublimage line this month, there is a new moisturiser and a new sunblock of SPF 30. Do you have this at your counter? I'm curious to try it. My counter got the new UV Essential SPF 30, but not SPF 20, earlier this year. The SPF 30 comes in a different packaging and tube.

I have been using UV Essential SPF 50 for years although I switch to other brands once in a while. I feel lazy to shake the bottle before use, so maybe I'll switch to something else. But it is lightweight and doesn't leave and oily film on me so I really like it on.

Miss QQ do you know if the SPF 30 that you're talking about is the same formula as the one referenced in my first post? Wouldn't surprise me too much if Asia got a different formula. I'd like to try a strictly physical one from them if they ever offer one.

I think the formula is different because of the packaging, and it is also cream-like, but lightweight. It doesn't need shaking like the SPF 50. I'm not sure if it is purely physical though, I'll check it out. Physical means that it doesn't contain chemicals like zinc oxide, ensulizole or octinoxate, is that correct?
